i just asked if there was a mod that did this but there is not...
becaus its against the rules
so i wanted to suggest it, but  it was already (this post).
so i am bumping it

i think this is a great idea and would add a lot of fun to the game
with "a message at the bottom of the screen telling you everything your dwarf was doing. "
plus a zoom in on Dwarf and follow  him/her option

it will add a hole new way  of looking, and a more personal feeling to some of the  dwarf in your fort.
and it would make  it a lot easyer then to manual follow  a dwarf  and re-zoom on him/her when they disappears on a stairway...

aah so there is no sutch thing then..

Not quite how modding works around here. This isn't Minecraft, we can't implement new features.
and what about the mod that convert the entire dwarf fortress play experience into something else?

this would be a bit the same  i think
i dont want to change the hole game just follow some random dwarf around  when playing the  game, and watch my little people  slowly get things done.

mabye the auto follow thing would be a new  feature
but more news on a single dwarf would not be as  you already get news  if they are pised or  get some mood, this would only add  some more new eneties
like i would give some urly old dwarf my girlfiends name and see in the news that she is a a party, sleeping, drinking, fighing something
in my view it would be like addinf more items to the game, just expaning the news on a single dwarf

anyway id does not mather to much just wonder if there was some mod around that did this
so it would make looking at my dwarf easyer

Hi  i was wondering is there is a mod that would let me follow a few dwarf and lets the screen auto follow  them around
i do this on my self but need to pause the game a million time evertime they move a floor up or down, and  look in the list where they are and zoom again on them
and then most of the time the game is paused


i would be like  in rollercoaster tycoon  where you can label a  few random guests give them a name
and see what they are up to, or get a msg  when they puke or take a piss, eat, buy/get something, or do what ever

i think this would be a great addon  to the game if its not made yet

EDIT: yes it does, and a lot... i switched to mayday and now i have 235fps and not 53 fps with 62 dwarfs..
so now  to see  how much dwarf i can handle  and still have 100 fps..
What? why? that's absolutely illogical.

yeah i was thinking the same but on my pc  it is just slower with phoebus..
i would love to play with phoebus couse its way better looking
i was late last nighte so i will test it out again today (mabye i change something more then only the image pack)

edit: okay  never mind all that its the same  FPS for both 64 dwarf and bunch of animal is 185~190 fps
i probely mixed something up in the setting yesterday...

i want a  place in my fort where only the nobels/count  come, is there a way to ban the slaves/worker dwarf from  entering  rooms
and letting  the ruling 1% to never see the worker dwarfs, or come to the food stock pile and wells of the working class?

when i started playing DF way back i has a FPS of 5 with 8 dwarfs..
now i have a fort with 89 dwarf and a FPS of 125,

would it be smart to set the max dwarf to 125?
normaly i played with 80 dwarfs at a FPS of 50...
and do i get any new nobels afther 100 dwarfs?
i only have a duchy now i wonder when i get a queen

and does anyone play with the nobels that you need to change the files to get, like a Dungeon Master?

i would really like to get the  Outpost liaison,sheriff,Diplomat,dungeon master,Forced Administrator,Hammerer
and a lot more nobels .....

just made a big fort a few warriors and  made everything of gold
a billion food and drinks, everthing  nice and dwarfis
but I never payed DF with enemies ON..........
never saw a siegs or a super demon come to crush me...
i just always lose intrest afther  i builded up a fort with 80+ dwarf and 8 years pass save and sound

i like rogue like likes too...

2d would be nice to have as a extra for a image pack or so
but for now i was just thinking of making it text based, so i dont have to play with images for hours on end in gimp
SLD sounds like the thing to go for then

i see i need to read a few more days about all this befor i try  something

i saw that in javascript you could als make a rogue-like
mabye that more intresting cause  it could be a browser rogue-like or rogue-like-like...

anyway i dont know yet how and what
i will try some tutorials out from diffrent  codes.
see what feels nice to work in

i have a billion idears for a game but wel it will probely not be to easy to added it  to a game if i dont know what i am doing
