Just as your title suggests, retiring resets your reputation.

Off topic:
All of them have about the same body_size (10000000) as an adult Giant. Only Whales and fully grown Dragons are larger.

Whale sharks (20,000,000), bronze colossi (same), cave dragons (15,000,000), and basking sharks (same) are also bigger than that.
You're saying that the largest megabeast in the game is matched in size by the whale shark? That... I... I need to make them trainable.

Actually, a full grown dragon is even bigger than that (25,000,000), so the whale shark is tied for second with two others. Although it takes a dragon an entire millennium to get that big (they start out the size of a grizzly bear), so in most worlds they won't be the biggest.

Hippos. I head out to a river to train swimming and combat skills by killing fish, but invariably a hippo charges me and stuns me, so I drown.

You shouldn't be fighting in water until you're at least an Adequate swimmer.

If he follows you and can't fly try baiting him to a ledge and throwing crap at him until he dodged off it.

Adventure mode, the only game where you can become legendary ambusher and clutch walker at the same time.

Just imagine noticing too late that a guy walking with a clutch was sneaking upon you... nightmares will follow...

I don't think we need to worry about people with clutches.

Can adventurers use workshops?

And are adventurer reactions available for all adventurers regardless of civilization?

No. All implemented and planned crafting involves doing things in the open. I don't think you can even mod the game to let an adventurer use a workshop.

For the second question, as far as I can tell, yes.

I've gotten to the site of a megabeast cave, and my directional indicator says ***. Unfortunately, it says that as long as I'm in the (pretty wide) general area and I have no way of telling where the entrance is. How can I find out?

If you mean a lair, those things are pretty small. Just look around the sides of any mound you find for entrance-ways and any open areas for hatches or single-tile downward slopes.

DF Gameplay Questions / Misc. Obect User questions

Does skill with it affect use of a weapon as much as conventional weapon skills?

If you took a sword and modded it to use "Misc. Object User" skill and were as skilled as that as in swordsmanship, would the results be the same?

I believe how long you need to hold a button for it to take the command twice is settable, but I'm not sure that's what this is about.

What does activating "c" (Clouds) on the "T" (travel screen) does?

In a clear sky nothing, but it switches whether or not to show the clouds over the map. If it's cloudy that will obscure the entire screen, but if part is cloudy and part isn't then you can use it to avoid going into a cloudy area (which has poor visibility).

i got stuck into a murky pool in the desert.
while an ambush.
wolves wont come down, but i also cant get out from it.And i cant fast travel.
what should i do?

Try to find a corner with poor visibility, hide with , then fast travel.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: Max Companions = Easy Mode?
« on: January 12, 2011, 12:04:57 pm »
More companions means bigger ambushes, and getting them all to fight one monster opponent effectively is nigh-impossible because of space issues.

ditto as 6 night creatures can wipe out a hand full of peasants they will all fall if they attempt to take on a 99 speed bronze who has a adept dodge skill.

Why the hell are you modding bronze colossus to make it harder? 20 companions is barely at an advantage against that given how few of them will be able to do shit.

How does one utilize steam to create power?

Actually I read that wrong. He's not "really" using steam power, he's just using it to get rid of water.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your adventure?
« on: January 11, 2011, 11:34:34 pm »
I realized trying to use a silver maul with a hero with average strength was a very stupid idea, so I had her train fighting some horses. Unfortunately, because attacking wildlife requires the same approval as attacking friendly civ members I accidentally had her attack my own lasher, setting the whole civilization against her.

The only other human civizilation on the map was something like 2/3 of the length and width of the (admittedly small) world away, and she had no companions. Luckily, even that distance was nothing compared to my last adventure (travel damn near an entire large world from north to south) and there were plenty of mountains along the way (bogeymen won't spawn on a mountain, though they they will follow you there).

So after a very long trip, a close run in with bogeymen where she hid then stayed still until daybreak and three dodged ambushes (from kobolds, goblins, and humans) she finally made it to the fortress of the other civilization, and a new start.

d-b-d.

Then undesignate the bin itself. All the contents will be taken to your local garbage dump

I meant in adventure mode.
