Yeah. Forget about the other guys running towards you. If you kill them they will appear again anyway.Or run in to talk to the prisoner, so that you can get your equipment back. Then grab his weapon and shield as quick as possible, makes things ALOT easier.Talk to him with your staff drawn and kill him before he manages to unsheathe his weapon.Hmm. I know that beforehand you have to whack the prison guard with your staff, but you should get your stuff back after talking to the prisoner.Ah, well I never got that far. They always put up their shield and wait for their friends.
The main concern about Hamstone is that he's really hard to make into an effective adventurer in DF. A wall of granite is a fair approximation (it can crush people and is made of granite), but Hamstone moves around by his own power! But if you're cool with me posting entirely made-up adventures, then i shall proceed. I'll probably also proceed if you're not cool with it.As long as it's funny

Honestly I cheat like a motherfucker on those missions because it's maximum retard. So I'm wearing this big cloak that doesn't actually make me look like a peasant, and I'm not wearing anything underneath it?Maybe you are. You have your armor and weapons when you start rescuing the prisoner.
It's January 26 and still no CK
THIS. Can you imagine the game we would be playing today if it came out packaged with release?
Wasn't this game a little rushed to get released on 11/11/11?
Has anyone ever gotten one of those missions to break a guy out of jail? I can't seem to even complete those. So far I can only figure out that you need to take over the town, or break the guy out of jail by fighting a large number of guards with nothing but a staff and throwing knives in a horrible starting position.
If you have to break out the guy from a non-hostile faction's castle, you can bring your equipment. Talk to the guard, ask for the keys, take them by force, free the prisoner, then beat the guards.
The game mentioned something about having connections. Is there a third way to do it? Like have really good relations with the owning lord or something?

Or if you need to change load orders.
The Nexus Mod manager is awesome though because it remembers your overwrite history and backs up the files it writes over which is godsent.
Keeping track of what mods you put in can be a pain in the arse, especially when everyone and their mother decides to name their readme file... 'readme'. But, that might be from the age of Oblivion and Fallout 3...
Its mostly pointed at mods which add extra files and the likes.
I don't know how many loading screens there are in Skyrim because CK isn't out yet but Oblivion definitely had less than 120. Procedurally generated loading screens are a good idea.I haven't really looked into this thread before now, and I regret it (the not looking bit). I wasn't introduced to roguelikes before I faceplanted into DF, and since then all the roguelikes I've played have kind of fallen short of the hopes and dreams DF jammed into my brainspace. Sure, Cataclysm, Nethack, and IVAN are fun, but none of them have the whole package: a robust combat system, a large open world, and glorious, glorious deaths. But this gem being developed here seems to be hitting on all my desires in a roguelike. If it were a woman I'dAlso, how many loading screens do you think there are in Skyrim? As in, how many segments of text? I can't find a total, but URR now has around 120, all of which are a paragraph, and the loading times are both pretty rare & short. I think it's a good compromise. I'll throw up a screenshot of a loading screen at some point. Also, a lot of the loading screens for each game are going to be procedurally-generated! More on this later...probablydefinitely propose.
You can expect my full attention from this point forward.
