Industries, corporations, businesses tend to go rotten when they grow large enough. That's when you stop supporting them and turn to the next new guy.
Well said. I already stopped supporting Bethesda and I guess it's time to let Bioware go too.

If I could make a wish, I'd wish for all gamers of every region to abstain from mainstream developers. There would be a mail campaign to each, stating that gamers are tired of on-disc DLC, tired of DRM and tired of the same games each year.

That would be my wish too. I can't criticize and complain about big companies and expect them take me seriously while they are making a shitload of money.

If it wasn't for the new indie companies that's getting popular nowadays, I would say PC gaming is doomed. We are not doomed... yet. We still have some good years left.

Also, watch this to see what I'm talking about when I say we should take a look at ourselves as gamers.

That was *_hilarious_*.  :D

That other video is funny too, in a dark way :P

The music makes the guy seem so evil, it becomes unbelievably funny. Man, imagine how it would be if it was real. We would end up paying money for bullets we use in the game. It would stop people going all-auto until they run out of ammo and people would start going for very careful shots.

Hey, it doesn't sound so bad when I say it like that. Maybe they'll give us DLCs to unlock frag grenades.

I agree. But it's not like complaining is going to change it. If people are buying, corporate whores will just keep pushing it. They only care about money and if they are getting money, everything is just peachy.

We should take a look at ourselves. We can't keep buying over-hyped same old bullshit and then complain about it or things will just get worse.

Quote
EA CEO John Riccitiello (while in shareholders meeting) - "When you are six hours into playing Battlefield and you run out of ammo in your clip, and we ask you for a dollar to reload, you're really not very price sensitive at that point in time."

"A consumer gets engaged in a property, they might spend 10,20,30,50 hours on the game and then when they're deep into the game they're well invested in in. We're not gouging, but we're charging and at that point in time the commitment can be pretty high."

"But it is a great model and I think it represents a substantially better future for the industry.""

You can listen it from the mouth of John Riccitiello with a more comedic effect here. Remember the background music from somewhere?

Also, watch this to see what I'm talking about when I say we should take a look at ourselves as gamers.

Me? I hate EA for ruining Bioware. Future of gaming is not looking bright.

I wonder if the guy who owned the GS in the first place and granted us access is banned too.

Some of us probably did some stuff and the others were found guilty by association or something. It seems every official (as in, joined the GS) Bay 12 member is banned.

It appears a not-so-great chapter closed in our lives as a community. May we all play games which doesn't ban players with a confusing excuse in the future.

Friendly slaving, my ass. Show me how to do hostile slaving then...

Did every Bay 12 member get banned?

That's... interesting.

I bet if you make a "I won't delete the virus you installed if you don't delete anything on my HD" agreement with someone it counts as being "friendly"

I think that the definition of "fantasy" is kind of blurred.
Just stuff that doesn't exist? Stuff that can't exist? I'm not really understanding where the line lies here.

Fantasy involves stuff that doesn't exist. Whether it be a fictional land or fictional creatures.

Magic and monsters do not actually need to be involved.

So, every fiction book ever written counts as "fantasy" books? And in this game, we will have a lot of fictional stuff and it still won't be fantasy. I think fantasy comes into play when things that we deem impossible happens... or something. I think it's a subjective matter.

Btw, I think aliens are real and thus they don't make a book, a "fantasy" book when they get included in the story.

Second btw, I don't think aliens are real. Maybe... I don't know. That was just for giving an example.

Well, I got banned for "friendly slaving". I have no idea what that is. I left a ticket trying to defend myself but I have a feeling that my SH days are over. It was fun while it lasted.

So doesn't that make the game fantasy by virtue of it being set somewhere that doesn't exist?
Sorry, I don't know much about genre naming standards, so most of this discussion about "low fantasy" and such is going way over my head.

No fantasy, in this case, means no elves, dwarves, magic, dragons, non-fictional gods, etc.

It's a deal. Than caterpillars and all the other shape-shifters in URR it is!

ftfy :P

Ruin all the fun :P

I think we are having trouble with finding a non-subjective definition for "fantasy"

Slaving inactive dudes is allowed... I think.

I hate it when game logs me off because I'm too fast though. "You are not allowed to use bots to refresh that fast" my ass. They treat me like a potential criminal. I KNOW MY RIGHTS GODDAMIT!

Whoa. It seems the 5.7 fwl and 4.9 av is deleted. What exactly did happen?

I'll upload some of the lost software tomorrow.

Heh, I wasn't the one who said "Anybody home?" but whoever it was, he really sparked a big conservation. I didn't know that bank was this crowded with campers. I wonder what happened after I left.

I also managed to get around 6 IPs while I was there. Cha-ching!

By the way, it's still not a good idea to be trusting in this game. People can stall you with pointless dialogs and delete your stuff while you are refreshing the logs page. It happened to me once. I sure got my cold-blooded revenge later though 8)
