I had the Dwarven god of football once. I have the screenshot somewhere and may post it later, but his name was "The Competitive Sports" and he was the deity of conflict, music and violence if I remember correctly.
Definitely reality shows and their cheap tracks and scripted drama

I begin military equipment very early in the game. Everyone at least got a wooden shield, a bone breast plate and a bone helm. Whenever I got an accident with wildlife, they either do the above, or attack the non-protected bodyparts, usually that'd take a long time for anyone to bleed out/suffocate, enough for me to send help. Sure, they might rest for the rest of their life in the hospital with borken legs & arms but it's better then losing men. I can decide their fate later.

You can test with butchering quickly in the arena. After a creature die, look at it, if it's butcherable you'd see "a: Butcher"

Hehe I embarked in a savage biome as well, and all I have is slugmen and snailmen that get scared of my dwarves.
Wha which version you are playing? in .18 slug/snail men are extinct. I miss those guys, especially the shell carriers.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... no they're not. I have a little herd of them right now. What information are you getting?

You know you can release the mod in small steps right? Like idk, "small mod, scifi booze for ur fort" then "small mod, fanciful stuff everywhere" etc before you get it all together and release as a major mod. Releasing early give you some sort of milestone and keep you going as well as eventually get people interested to play test and give feedback to your mod.

the genning a new world question was about IM.
IM has a lot of things I want, but a lot more things I don't want. Too bad I can't pick and choose which features I want.
If you can comment on features I'd appreciate the feedback. I shape the game how I like it, but not everyone think the same. I've thought of making optional packages for stuff other ppl may like but no one have mentioned anything so I got no clue. A head cannot converse with itself.

Idk it seems really heavy for a "light" mod. Do I have to gen a new world?

and when it says "Phoebus tileset and Fortress Defense Mod compatible." does that mean it's incompatible with other tilesets? cause I love my Ironhand
Even if you fix it yourself with prefstring, you might need to gen a new work anyway. I'm not sure prefstring is related to creature behavior or creature definition, the latter need work regen.

As for IronHand, it'd work. Ironhand 0.48 layout look like phoebus .18v00 so there'd be a misplaced item but aside from that it should be fine. I'd see if I can get full iron support next release. Catering to an another group of audience is always nice :D

elephant is a bad idea... they are expensive and take forever to mature. By the time you get couple breeding pairs the fortress is already at its end. My favorite are grizzly bears, polar bears and giant eagles. Breed fast, like 2 years to mature and war trainable. Butcher the weak and breed the strong.

verminhunter is exactly what make cats pick owner. You cannot change that. You can however, change their [PREFSTRING] to [PREFSTRING:NONE] which i believe, tell the game to make people not like it. That alone significantly reduce the rate at which cats adopt owners.

Alternatively, just so you know, IM v0.07 has eliminated cats and all redundant vermins  8)

I love mountains, but finding enemy units is an unholy bitch on cliffy maps
Precisely why i prefer flat map. If they are not on the ground they'd be in the only cavern layer. Beside, embarks with 30-35z levels total seem to load faster and get less lags
