I have no idea if this thread will pick up the lost ground, but I hope so. Here is my picture of Shade:

Dave 'Shade' Daurmin

A man in a black business suit with a knife strapped to his leg appeared unexpectedly in the crowd of people. After listening to Kine's speech Shade decided he wasn't interested in the group, just what he could use them for. He called out "Shade. Watch this." He ran forward kicking off the podium only to fell forwards into his own shadow on the ground only for him to appear in the shadow of the massive creature. The momentum tossed him upwards to the height of a creature. As he landed he drew his blade and cut into the soft neck of the monstrosity, he danced about the back of the creature cutting into it as he moved. Whenever he fell of he teleported back onto the creature using the same shadow that he used to climb it, thank goodness it was stupid. Maybe he should have brought something bigger than a knife... but that wouldn't be fun.

There was too much to do here without fighting for someone else's cause, but he might get something out of this group. Hopefully no one minded that he was a notorious bank robber. Who knew that a poorly lit vault would be such a security threat? He was beyond petty cash, he wanted excitement, even if it meant almost being caught. His notoriety led to several news stories and articles which gave him a massive ego.

The creature started to fall, so Shade decided to have some fun with it. He started screaming and shaking his hands towards the creature's shadow which slowly opened up as it fell. The building a little ways down started to go dark as Shade and the creature appeared a good twenty feet above ground. Shade rode the monster's back as it skidded to a stop, when it stopped moving he raised both his arms up as if someone just scored a touchdown. That was tiring, but he tried his best not to let it show.

((He can do group warping if he wants, but depending on how tired he is he might not be able to. For instance he couldn't right now.))

I didn't mean that you should drop your character :o. I meant that my character was from the Aetherplane, not just related to it. Even just normal RPing would be a bit much. I'd be referring to the Aetherplane at least once every two posts. It would get out of hand quick and once we have to go there for even a quick event. Kine is great because he is also human, and can avoid referencing the Aetherplane if he wants.

I'll be posting in a bit as a new character. I intend to use the portal creation power. I'm aiming at a shadow hopper that can create pathways for himself and others. He's out for himself, and would probably get along with Wei quite nicely assuming Zako is still in. Drawing a picture of him, but it might be a while. So who else is still around?

3875
Yay! The thread is ALIVE!!! Lets cut out the supernatural for a few events. While I find it cool, and important to my character it seems to be a thread-killer right now.

EDIT: You know. I think I should swap out to a back up. I think that keeping a character directly from the Aetherplane would be straining after a while since he was never human, or lived as one. If I do swap out characters I'd go for a portal hopper.

((Maybe the 3 GMs could reveal what direction they want the RP to go in, just keeping out details so no one is tempted to meta etc. I'm just kinda confused because I thought this was about secret societies with mutants and kind of a RP mafia with 3 sides, but now it's monsters in the fog and supernatural stuff.))

((Yeah. I was expecting individuals to be hunted, maybe some group mechanics, and an attempt to find out what is happening. For now it's just monsters that we can't really look into without being suicidal, and people that no one ran into. There wasn't even much obvious Agency movement other than the serial killings. I think I'll stick to carrying normal weapons in the future. Maybe Moriarty's spring loaded pistol system...))

3877
((When everyone is out of the barrier we can finish the event and post another. We need this to keep moving, not that it is moving slow ;). The gap between events seems to be where most freeform games die off from lack of information to work with. I'd hate to see this thread stop, even if I did go crazy with hammerspace weapons for a second ::). Sorry about that.

Maybe we could have two smaller connected events running together? I would love some intrigue, but events like this force NPC combat, which is not suppose to be the focus. It would work well for the Agency though, showing a stronger presence in the city and making Secret-Keepers feel threatened.))

EDIT: [/meaningless_rant]

Making sure his sleeve gun was covered up by his suit jacket Henry walked towards the police line. As Zack fell several paramedics dragged him back towards the barricades after a quick examination. A mustached police officer ran up to Henry. "Who are you, and what the hell is happening in there? We have some of our own in there and what happened to the other guy has me worried. You seen anyone else?" he seemed worried, and with good reason.

"My name is Henry MacShadon, and I have no idea what the hell I saw in there. It was almost like a horror movie. There were some strange things in there, if you don't believe me ask the other guy when he gets up." Henry tried his best to sound sane, the last thing he wanted was to be taken into custody with a prototype weapon strapped to his arm. "If anyone needs a statement on what I saw I'd be glad to write one up here."

((Someone can RP the police officer if they want, otherwise I'll assume I just wrote a statement and left once Zack was taken away.))

"Come on! Run damn it! You can't fight shadows like that! We need to get out of here, to the light!" Henry pulled at Zack's arm. "It's only a few more buildings away. We can make it."

3880
"First things first, your bleeding." Henry disappeared around the corner and returned a moment later with a first aid kit. "This might hurt, but I need to bandage the wounds. You'll have to have it disinfected later, there isn't enough here for something that big." Without thinking Henry started applying the bandages, but because of his lack of sleep the amount of pressure he applied was erratic, but he still applied the bandages alright. "It's clearly more dangerous here than either of us expected. I'm not sure why you're here, but I suggest we leave, we are only a few blocks into the fog. If we hug the walls and move in a straight line we'll make it out. When you're OK to move I suggest we do that." Henry put on his suit again. "Staying here might draw more of those things. We need to stay calm."

Henry started hearing something behind them... a woman crying in the backroom just beyond the door. It sounded as if she was saying something. The voice was familiar, but distorted and angry. Henry took a step back and turned to the wounded man. "We can introduce ourselves later, but I suggest we run. There wasn't anyone back there before!" The thing stumbled out of the backroom with its unnaturally long limbs shambling underneath it. It's blond hair shimmered dully in the pale red mist, and it's face was mostly intact. It called out as it lurched forward slowly.

"Yoooouuuuu---..." Its voice was low, but unmistakeable. Henry knew the creature, and he wanted to run from it.

((Feel free to have my character lead/follow during the escape if you want to write it adwarf.))

The creature backed off after receiving several bullets from the mysterious person who ran into the store. Not wanting to be at a disadvantage Henry started firing wildly at the creature. The recoil was far more that he had expected, but it was a prototype. The first shell flew at the wall across the street, fracturing the brick wall as the steel wad shattered into the stone. His arm now in the air fired again. The recoil pushed his arm inward with a great pull, he felt his shoulder pop for a moment and an intense shot of pain rolled down his arm. He clenched his arm with the left and fired again. The creature leaped forward only to have the steel shot tear at its left cheek. It howled sporadically in pain as it held its face and shoulder where the stranger had shot. One last shot he thought. He fired. The shot connected with its face tearing it to shreds. Blood flew backwards in a wide arch. Hopefully that was it, this wasn't what he expected.

He turned to the person who ran in as he started doing up his shirt sleeves. He noticed the long scratches that the creature left on Zack. "Shit. Those gashes look bad. I'll go grab the first aid kit, I saw it earlier. Do you know what the hell that was?"

3882
((Sorry about the whole, he suddenly has weapons thing. I intended these weapons from the start, which is why I said his usual things. I'll PM a more full bio before tomorrow to better explain what I wrote so far. Even ALM was made for a reason. I also think I made the shotgun sound larger than it is. It's basically a sawed-off length barrel with a 4 shell tube feed, and he only really had one flashbang. Sorry about that excessive sounding weaponry, I'll watch my typing when it comes to that.))

3883
((Depends on where you want your character to be located. I don't really count The Fool's fight, considering he seem's to think this is some kind of Sci-Fi setting where people have shotguns under their arms.))

(( :) I'll try and lower the amount of sci-fi references, but the gun under the arm thing isn't really genre specific. Besides I think it is a bit more personal to the character to have something like that, even if it does serve the same purpose.))

Something was in the shadows at the edge of the light, shifting it's weight as it inched towards the light. The fleshy blood covered creature had to be about six feet tall with massive claw like limbs draping from its back. It stood there staring at the blinding white light as if in a trance, but it didn't move closer, it seemed puzzled. What was surprising was that this creature was wearing a shirt and pants. The bloody white shirt on its back was in tatters, with a massive gap where the claws were. Its face shone as if there was a light film on its skin, but the face otherwise seemed human. A shadowy figure dashed into a nearby alley and called out. The creature's gaze jumped at the new sound. It screeched loudly as its back claws flared over its head.

"Run! It saw you!" Henry shouted as he haphazardly tossed off his suit jacket. He stumbled out the propped open doors gesturing his right hand and fumbling with the buttons on his right sleeve as he went. Being careful to avoid pulling the flat electrical wire that ran from his glove to what would normally be a trigger he rolled back his sleeve to reveal a 20 gauge strapped to his right arm. His company would be pissed if they knew he kept a few of the designs for himself. Too late to not use it now. Shame that it didn't have much ammunition, once this clip is done he would have to make a run for it. The shotgun's hammer cocked as Henry stopped gesturing.

((I said the creature was there... Oh well...))

Henry started getting sick of waiting it out in some random clothing store, and just watching from the glass windows. He walked back into the plain white walled employee only area, there had to be a toolbox in the back somewhere. Checking the room marked janitorial he found exactly what he was looking for, pliers. He reached down his left sleeve and with a click he pulled out something compact, an experimental phosphorous grenade, one of his own design. The grenade was already in two halves by design, all he had to do was narrow the connecting tube. This would normally be easy, but between his nerves and his tired, shaky gloved hands this might be interesting. He gripped the pliers and placed them on the connecting tube, a cold sweat beaded down his forehead and down onto his glasses. If the grenade cracks from the pressure he'd be blind and deaf. The tube started to narrow from the pressure, he moved the pliers to avoid over stressing the tube. The tube was ready, so he slid it back down his sleeve. It clicked back in place.

He walked back to the front door and propped the door open with a door stop that he found near the counters. With a few gestures of his left glove his sleeve mechanically rolled back at the forearm revealing a small oddly shaped tube with a sound insulator strapped to his arm. He positioned himself away from the door and extended his arm outward. With a small pop the grenade flew outward clacking as it bounced off the ground. A loud fizzling could be heard and a faint glow illuminated the streets. Henry made a few more gestures and the sleeve popped back into place. A screech came from outside the store as something came barreling towards the light. It was horrifying...

((I'll leave it open for other people to see this before the light goes out.))
