((Lets not make an official city map. Bending space so you can get to events is !!FUN!!. So we are in Europe?))

Outside a coffee shop, 5 blocks from Atlas Arms (Henry's employer), 1:15 p.m.

Henry was sitting outside a coffee shop just conceptually toying with new weapon designs on paper before something dramatic happened. He looked up to see that several blocks away a pale red mist floated in the air, and nerve-racking screaming could be heard only to be silenced mid-scream. He was too tired to notice earlier, but people were running away from this mist. Henry stayed calm, maybe it was a riot, or at least something logical. Moments later the mist gave way to a thick mist which poured from around the corner of the building several blocks down. Maybe it was the lack of sleep, but Henry swore that it was moving at a slow pace.

He folded and pocketed his papers, whatever was happening he had to know. Chances are it had nothing to do with the serial killings, but this was too strange to pass up, the scientist in him was too interested to leave now. He stood up and started walking towards the fog he decided to that he would have to go past the mist and into the fog, even if it was dangerous. If he was lucky he might just be able to see the cause. "What are you?" he thought coldly to himself as he walked into the fog. As he walked into the dense crimson fog he lost almost all vision and started sticking to the walls. The smell of iron salts filled his nostrils, he removed his coat and draped it over his head with one hand and covered his mouth with the other. The gases would be thinner if he did this since the iron gas was so heavy. He headed into the nearest open building for some shelter while he came up with a plan.

498: No matter what level your wizard is you cannot use all your spells in an attempt to boatmurder a fortress full of dwarves.
But what if you're an elephantine decendant?

498a: Unless you are an elephantine decendant wizard. If that is the case go boatmurder boatmurdered.

There was nothing at the crime scene worth noting as far as he could tell. It was his first time at a crime scene, but it told him a lot about what happened; more than a cleaned scene would tell. If he was to find clues as to of what was happening in the city he would have to find more crime scenes as they form. He might even have to hack into the police communications network which shouldn't be too hard all things considered.

Walking back past the coffee shop he found himself unintentionally following someone. The guy kept looking back at him nervously. Who does he think I am? The man broke into a run. Henry looked down to see if there was anything horribly wrong, not seeing anything out of place he straightened his vest and tie and looked back up. Whoever he is he thinks I'm dangerous. Weird. The man disappeared into an alley, but Henry had no reason to follow him. It might be a bad idea to follow someone that thinks you might hurt them.

He made it to work with time to spare. He went to the secretary and said, "Hey Mary. I finished the designs, could you pass them on to the boss?"

"Sure Henry." she paused for a moment after taking the tube. "You look tired, are you still having trouble sleeping?"

"Yeah, like always. Stargazing might still be the death of me, but the big design projects don't help."

"At least you can work at home. Try to get some sleep for once."

"I'll try. See you later."

"Bye."

He walked out of the office and back onto the streets.

((Without some event to draw us together we will be in random places and may never even meet each other. Only the Agency has a real reason to move about, but even then they'd have to meta-game to be in the same building as someone else. Any chance of world events to help move people together? It would have to be interesting to most secret-keepers, agency members, and truth-seekers, but not necessarily involving them directly. Maybe a protest rally, rumors surrounding a place, or clues to the serial murders.))

491: Just because your character can lift a house off the ground doesn't mean that you can put it on the end of a stick and use it as a hammer.

Henry MacShadon was snoring in an office chair when the lights suddenly came on without notice. The light revealed what appeared to be a server room with liquid cooling systems on all four walls. In the center of the room was four monitors suspended on a steel frame. Henry looked around for the cause of the lights and noticed the time, seven in the morning.

“Why did you wake me ALM?” he said in a disgruntled and tired voice. He didn’t bother looking for the person he was talking to and proceeded to straighten his glasses.

A robotic female voice came in over the computer speakers, “Your dark files are complete, the telescope is shut down, but the telescope needs to be covered before sunrise. Your weapon design needs to be sent to head office for approval before noon.”

Henry stood up and said to ALM before leaving, “for once I’d like some descent sleep, alright?” Light flicked on as he left the computer room and headed to the roof, grabbing a white bag as he climbed. He looked out at the city from his penthouse view as he covered his large Meade telescope after a night of stargazing. The city had changed, he didn’t know if it was for better or worse, but it was different. People talked of experimentation, mutants, secret societies, and serial killings. Henry had little reason to believe almost any of it, but the fact that it was becoming more and more common made him curious. If all that is really happening, who was behind all of this, and why are people getting killed?

He grabbed the finalized blueprint, signed it and put it in a tube before grabbing his usual things. Leaving his apartment he headed towards the nearest café for some much needed coffee. While he programmed ALM to operate some electronic features of his apartment, including security, but she never did quite figure out the espresso machine before breaking it, even if the coding was right. He would take his time turning in the blueprint, there had to be some advantage to working quickly as a physicist of ballistics.

He entered the nearby coffee shop and sat down grabbing a local newspaper from the counter. Only took a couple seconds for him to read what he wanted from it. Another serial murder just a few blocks away. He thanked them for the coffee and left for the scene of the crime with his blueprint tube slinged over his shoulder.

EDIT:
Spoiler: OOC (click to show/hide)

About two blocks into his walk to the crime scene mentioned in the news Henry looked to his right as an ambulance drove by. The police blocked off a section of road to make sure no one driving would notice the copious amounts of blood. He moved closer. The police were standing around an outline of where the body was. Based on where the blood sprayed he had to guess that it was another serial killing, there seemed to be murders all over the city recently.

Lawful Good? I'm in. My character proposed a similar idea, but I don't think anyone went for it for now. Besides my character isn't much of a leader. Negotiations would be a bad idea and people would be afraid of me in normal situations. I need a mask.

I think Kine might just join the robbery scene just to fight Buster Corp if/when they appear. They are kind of the biggest threat to supers.

I agree that mundane events are great, but it is the magical ones that give the story a sense of scale. Maybe we can space them out as we go, or integrate it into more mundane events in some way (minor villain from the Aetherplane or something). We don't need mind screws every second event, but if we can ease into them maybe we can make it work.

3895
I suppose you could hire a truth-seeker into the Agency mid-game if you think you can trust them. Might keep things interesting.

3896
Sorry for the double post, but maybe we can get more people if there is a bit more of an explanation of what this game is. The way it is written I'd say it's an epic game of cat and mouse between the Secret-Keepers and the Agency with the Truth-Seekers in the middle to add to the confusion. Toss in the fact that no one really knows who is in what faction and it becomes a cloak and dagger game as well. We still need more people though...

3897
So who is posting the bank robbery scenario in an hour or two? We can beat up random people later.

3898
I think that we should post a world event by the end of the day. It would give some people a chance to RP at the bar and we'd stay on track.

"This place is definitely interesting." Lex was sitting on his chair smoothing out the carvings on the table. "Tom, you wanted something shiny?"

Lex pulled at the skin of his right arm, evenly so that his arm didn't bleed forming a makeshift shape. Pressing at it Lex formed a really shiny cube and placed it on the table.

"If I recall correctly my skin is mostly granite, and I can regrow it later using rocks. Speaking of which, I should be leaving. I need to find some rocks."

What happens when alcohol hits a strong acid? I'll look it up and post what I find.

EDIT: This uses sulfuric acid and sugar, it may not use fluorine it gives a good example. Fluorine is more reactive, jump to 4 mins in the second video to get an idea what fluorine does to carbon.

Alcohol releases some fluorine which burns the hell out of anyone around me. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Anyone think it would be a good idea for me to drink in a mobsters bar?
