With my peasant human outsider, I've noticed that daggers can really be a good weapon sometimes.
With my copper dagger and adept knife user skill, I could kill any at the size of a human with only one strike to the lower body. The only creatures who caused me trouble were bogeymen on a flat plain

If you are overwhelmed by ennemies and if you can swim without drowning, try to run to a nearby murky pool and begin to sneak once you're in it, most enemies won't see you.
Also when attacked by bogeymen, try to make them dodge in an open space (climbing on the side of a bridge saved me many times, they keep falling when they dodge. According to my experience, it is almost impossible to survive on a flat terrain.

I remember quite well my first fortress. Almost all my dwarves were unhappy so I tried to make a waterfall. Bad idea. I flooded the dining room, the food stockpile and my farm ( No doors ). Since the booze was now inaccessible, my dwarves were drinking at the brook. Obviously a goblin ambush appeared between them and the fortress and they got slaughtered.
My remaining guys got killed in a vain attempt to save the most precious item of my fortress : the artifact leather leggings of my only (and dead) soldier.

Set the cats internal temperature to be that of the sun.

That should free some FPS.
And that's how the first (C)atomic bomb was created

Today I was playing in my fortress when I got a wave of 19 migrants (89 dwarves now).
I was checking their skills and I saw one who had "Proficient military tactic(s)". Is there someone who know what it means ?(I can't find it in the wiki)

Yeah... But doing this with dwarves is always more Fun and it could be transformed as an emergency defense system I think. Also my nobles will  very happy to know that they are chosen as test subjects

I just wanted to shorten the time my dwarves need to get from the surface to the bottom of my fortress (magma glass furnaces 75 lvl below the ground eat a lot of time for sand collection)

I was wondering if a dwarf on fire will extinct if I throw water on him or if the water will evaporate.
If its not the first solution...then I have a new way of cleaning a flooded room

Im sure that trees can grow on unmuddied soil floors because I have see very often young trees in m'y red sand fortress ( even though most of them are dead due to the dwarves )

Im not sure but I think trees only grow on muddied rock or on soil but not on muddied soil.

Each time I load the save there is a cave in.

Once I had a similar cave-in problem which involved the 2nd carvern. The cave-ins declared before I discovered the caverns and happened each time I loaded the game but the roof stayed always the same.

I finally decided to use it to kill the creatures of the HFS. Auto-cave in trap !!
