Have Comp engrave his home and area around. Then start farming.

Alternatively, have him set up another home in the third caverns, so he can collect the fungus/trees and all of the webs.

Head out looking for a merchants guild, or perhaps a freight company. Try to find work doing anything. Find a store that sells equipment for mining, and barter some mining equipment. If mining equipment is found, list the price of it. Also, please list the worth of the items in my cargohold including the plasma generators.
