No, the spear traps have to be in the same squares the dwarves are for an effective danger room.

I think i may have found a problem. A captain of the guard with a bronze battle axe may not be ideal

Bronze is excellent for bladed weapons, third only to steel and *spoilers*.

Not necessarily. I recall reading somewhere that goblins could maneuver through caves.

You're right. I should add some repeating silver spikes.

What, the only usable ore I have is tetrahedrite.

I just discovered a stack of *pig tallow roast* in the food stockpiles.

My dwarves have invented bacon.

I'm so proud of them.

I took a sneak peek at the candy under Bootrazors with DF Reveal, three veins-- one of which doesn't even appear until the middle of the magma sea, the other two of which are in the third cavern. One of the latter hollows out one layer below its topmost point.

And I've since forgotten which one it was. @_@

All my dorfs are fat! D:

Fat's good, though. It absorbs attacks that might otherwise hit vitals.

I'm building a building at Bootrazors! Sort of a step-pyramid kind of thing. Ground level's going to be the entrance, rigged with drawbridges so that at the touch of a button pull of a lever it diverts attackers into a labyrinth full of *large serrated copper disc* x10 traps and gigantic/fat/muscular puppies to lure them to their splattery doom. Enemies that reach the final puppy will find cage traps and Bootrazors' danger-room-trained melee force waiting, as well as the archers stationed behind fortifications. Ground level will also contain a covered farm for surface plants.

Yeah, water buffalo and yaks both need lots and lots of grazing area. Larger grazers than them are actually impossible to keep alive at present because they literally can't eat/move fast enough to keep from starving.

I have a bunch of she-cats, but no toms. This makes producing a kitten horde rather difficult.

Inexplicably, one of the tame bears the elves brought me gave birth, so bear breeding projects are possible.

The dogs of course are breeding rampantly. Annoyingly, so are the guinea pigs. I've ended up with a giant herd spanning several generations all descended from one pet cavy boar and one pet cavy sow, whom I am waiting to die of old age so I don't feel guilty for slaughtering all their descendents.

Capybaras also breed like rodents, as I'd expected. A heavy culling program means that the larders are full of *capybara meat roast* and *capybara tallow chili* and *capybara intestines pie*, and at the same time I'm setting up another pasture because they're overgrazing the one they have. @_@

Yes. We are.
Some of us pamper our dwarves, instead of following the
Standard of Fortresses. Mostly due to not having some... Necro get in here.
Although we still deign to having unfortunate accidents.

Necro made some jokes that were inappropriate even for this community and was muted.

That said,

MAGMAAAAAAAAAAAAA

In response to OP, yes. Sometimes in worldgen a demon will take over goblin or human civilizations by posing as the avatar of one of their deities.

Cheese does indeed go bad IRL, especially soft cheeses.

*had some queso not-so-fresco a few weeks ago and isn't keen on repeating the experience*

Just found out the hard way that some of Bootrazors' fine militia fell into the nearby ponds and drowned during the latest goblin siege. Time to go find their remains and engrave some slabs...

If you're not averse to cheating, DFHack has a "clean" function. I tend to use it a lot to remove blood and vomit so my framerate will stop choking on it, but it also works on FB extracts.
