Actually, with devil's tower, you wouldn't find magma easily.  The whole reason that core is exposed is because it's dead, and everything is long cooled, including the plumbing.

Some things can pass through fortifications.  What I do is I wall the section off, leaving one miner down there with a small storeroom and a bed for him while I mine with the fortification trick.

I don't know, but it still does.   That's the creepiest part.

Just put in way more volcanoes and rivers and civs and megabeasts than it can handle, it'll run 500 rejects and say something about having trouble with xxx thing and then you just tell it to ignore all rejects.

It'll generate a world just fine after that. It's possible to get a world with no civs at all that way, so only do 50-100 years of history.

Makes for some interesting embarks, having all those rivers and volcanoes and hostile civs crammed together

ah, If only I could code....

I'll see what I can do, but it will be a few weeks at the shortest, if I can pull it off at all.  I'm not sure I'm up to it - it'll be a test of my coding skills for sure.

I'm wondering how I'd go about making fewer soil layers appear and have more sedimentary rocks appear instead.  I can't figure out how to do it without just removing soil layers.

Any ideas?

myself I would pick Mount Scott Oklahoma,   A decently high peak in the middle of a plain,  so it's easy to see everything coming towards your fort and it is a very defensible position.



Holy crap, I'd totally build a fortress on that.

It would have to be LAN only, but I think you could make it work with some creativity and RAM editing.  Oh, and you'd have to disable the pause on menu.
