DF Gameplay Questions / What the heck are Libraries?
« on: October 29, 2012, 11:45:22 am »
So I'm getting back into Dwarf Fortress after some time away, and I just noticed that there are like 20 new Workplaces named "Libraries". I've seen nothing of them in Toady's dev logs, and I'm wondering what purpose they serve.

« on: July 11, 2012, 08:25:18 am »
So, as any good PC gamer, I was starting up my Steam to start a new day when I got the message that I have Beta access to source flimmaker. I have done nothing to want or deserve this, and I was wondering if this has gotten this message as well.

Play With Your Buddies / Crusader Kings 2: Britannia MP (Minor Mods)
« on: July 10, 2012, 02:39:44 pm »

Anyone want to play some CK II? I know I do. So I thought it would be a cool idea to help host a game of Crusader kings. As for the mod we will be playing, it is called "Broken Kingdoms", and what it does is makes all Vassals independent, creating an insane situation in where pretty much everyone is free of Crown Laws. It also makes everyones Succession laws Agnatic-Cognatic Gavelkind, so be ready.  ;)

Edit: Were also using the Kingdoms Abound mod for our own Kingdoms.

IMPORTANT RULES:
1. As per title, you MUST play someone that is in a region considered part of the British Isles. This means England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Isle of Man, or the Orkney Islands.
2. Your Capital and land MUST be in the British Isles. This does not mean that you CAN'T expand outside of the Isles, but you still need to be centered around Britannia.
3. You and your Heir must be a Culture within the British Isles. This means Saxon, English, Scotish, Irish, Welsh, or Norwegian. You can have one or two rulers not of these cultures, but for the most part I reccomend you stay these cultures. Norman culture is the only exception to this rule.
4. No rushing bum players. If someone wants to be a one-County Earl in Ireland or Scotland, don't punish them for it. I would also perfer we didn't all declare war on each other within the first 20 or 30 years or so :P.
5. No assassinations of PCs (Player Characters), especially if they have no more vaild heirs to their dynasty or still have Gavelkind. While Assassinations are fun, no one likes having their 10+ stat genius die, so don't do it... Unless their Heretic. Or Excommunicated. Or too Expansionist.
BONUS: If your playing a Duke or Earl in England, consider being Norman so we can create a English-Saxon culture war in England :P

TIME: Session times have not been decided upon.

PLAYERS - NATION / DYNASTY:
(You may use Ruler Designer)
JohnFalcon99977 - Duchy of Lancaster / Falcon (What else were you expecting? :P)
warhammer651 - County of Oxford / ???

Digital Hellhound - Duchy of Gwynned / ???
fivex - Duchy of Moray / ???
Twiggie - Count of Surrey / ???

I thought the title would grab your attention.

I just want to show you this 20 minute video, called the Shepard Indoctrination Theory.

The short verison of it is: The reason the ending of Mass Effect 3 makes no god damned sense is because its all in Shepards Mind. The final sequence of ME3 is Shepards own internal battle aganist his own indoctrination.

If your not convinced, I reccomend watching this video which provides 10 great peices of evidence for the Theory.

What do you think, bay12? Could this be actually what happened? Or is it just a bunch of coincidences and Bioware actually just wrote a horrible ending? I would love to hear your opinions!

Other Games / Star Wars is offically dead.
« on: April 19, 2012, 07:02:13 pm »
They said that the New Trilogy ruined it.

They were wrong.

They said that said that the horrible games killed it.

They were wrong.

They said that the Holiday Special ruined it.

They were all wrong.

For they had only crippled it Ladies and Gentlemen, not killed it.

The worst was still to come.

So I present to you all a game.

And all you need to know about it is:

THIS IS WHAT KILLED STAR WARS.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Explain the Above Poster's Quirk
« on: April 08, 2012, 06:25:38 pm »
Because I have nothing better to do with my time.

One person posts any kind of personality "Quirk" he has, then the next poster tries to explain it. Extra points goes to the more elegant explanations. Also, try and make the Quirk you post related to the one above, if possible. I'll start:

I have a irrational fear of dogs. Whenever I see one, I instantly get a irresistable urge to run for my life, especially if they are unchained or don't have a collar. This obviously doesn't end well normally.

The game had been reveled recent, so I thought it fit to make a thread because I know there are others here who like the AC series

Reveal Trailer

From what I gather, the game is set in the American Revolution, and you play as a Mohawk Indian who got his everything burned down by white people. Your also apparently bros with Washington this time, even though I thought he was a Templar.

I have to say I am a bit disappointed with the time frame, but then again that's likely just because I'm bored to death with American History. However, AC has a track record when it comes to historical accuracy, so it may be more interesting to see how the colonies and the Leaders of the American Revolution were REALLY like. Although, if they do take that path, I can almost guarantee that your'll be hearing from a VERY CERTAIN news station when it shows some of the less... flattering... parts of the American Founding Fathers, especially so close to election year over here.

Welcome! Before you even try, no, were not accepting. This is just to make the whole GM transistion thing a little easier for me.

As it my be common knowlage by now, Shoesand has stopped GMing the other Homestuck RPG, and given me the task of continuing it. Don't worry, under my great and magnificent guidence as your (Game)Master, I will always be completely fair and totally understandable! Not to forget my very Modest attitude! With me as your new GM, you will have a much enhanced experience. (Theres also some Douche called "The Fool" who thinks hes the co-GM, which I will let him intertain the posistion of)

And now that we have that totally not hypocrital, self-serving, and foreboding Intro out of the way, I have to say that were starting this from scratch guys. Sorry to say, but I think its best if we start a new fresh story for both our sakes. You can keep your characters though, and while you don't need to change any of them, I really recomend that you redo your intro and such. Keep in mind that what you don't say, I'll have to assume. This applies to Houses, Guardians, some Personality traits, Strife Specibus's, that kind of stuff.

Now, stop, I know your going over to the last thread to copa-pasta your last sheet right now. Even if your going to do that, at least keep in mind that you can also add Traits to your characters. These are "Special" properties that your character has, and can use in Combat and Out, depending on what it is.

Lets start by me engaging gloriously in more hypocritcy by copa-pasting my own character sheet.

Edit:
Edio is running an adventure based on the RPG which never updates. Check it out!

Other Games / Total War: Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai
« on: January 17, 2012, 08:06:00 pm »
Teaser Trailer

Taking place 400 years after the first orginal game, this game is about the fall of the old Shogunate and, as the title implies, the Samurai. However, this time you have Modern nations, more powerful rifles, and also, for the first time in a Total War Game, repeating Gunpowder weapons and Railways. You can either fight as the old Shogunates or the rising Modern Imperial power. Also new is Steam powered warships, Naval invasions, Naval bombardments, and Defensive Towers with specific desginations.

It sounds really cool, and it makes me want to play TW: Shogun 2 again. But what say thou, fellow bay12ers?

The game is simple. Go to a random page on wiki, and try to reach Jesus in the least amount of Links. And then what you went through to find Jesus.
