Journal for 12th Malachite
So much for a peaceful summer, people working on the tower saw an enormous bronze statue tearing through the forest to the north. Luckily we had been testing our fortress defenses and the lever that controls the draw bridge had been pulled leaving no way for the colossus to enter.

21st felsite 1055
finally the western wall is complete along with the defense trench. the eastern wall is only a few more days from completion once its complete i can work on expanding the main fort.

the dining room has become especially crowded.

25th felsite
The elves came and we managed to get an elephant for the military and some booze.

I have been "appointed" cheif mason by my fellow masons. Lazy sods cant be bothered to think for them selves bah!  at least i will get all the credit... or the blame. After an inspection of our defenses i have decided that through walls and trenches we must make the bridge the only way invaders can enter that way we can utilize our traps and military efficiently.


Armok damn her Ducim has decided that she would destroy our drawbridge and grind progress to a halt just because she was upset. I must now mobilize the masons to reconstruct the bridge so that work on the wall can continue.

she seems to have trapped herself where the bridge once stood. Good maybe it'll starve some sense into her.

you guys might have to skip me 'cause i can't seem to get df to recognize the save. any suggestions on how to make it work?

I've played dwarf fortress for a while but can't figure out how to get save files i get from dffd to work. I've tried putting it in the save folder but its not working. Sorry for asking such a noob question but could you please help me out or point me to somewhere were i can find out. Thanks

Dear Marksdwarves,
I appreciate your enthusiasm for training but please, please stop using the iron bolts to train, i already told you thats not what there for and you have a nice big stack of wooden ones use those. Oh and asking you to defend a burrow does not mean stare angrily at the goblins through the fortification it means shoot them.

PS i know your pets being slaughtered upsets you but that doesn't mean you can throw a tantrum, especially wen you destroy the bridge your standing on and plummet 3 z levels into the lava pit, that just wastes valuable iron.
