Aside from hair and nails, I'm putting in teeth, skulls, ribs, teeth, noses, ears, tongues, horns, tusks and tails...  The somewhat unfortunate fact is that because humans are currently defined only by a simple structure and a random number seed (it specifies them as sentient "average"-sized humanoid omnivores), they will have any number of these new growths.  I haven't done descriptions yet, but soon we'll see if the current human random number seed generates humans with horns and long red bristly hair sparsely covering their entire bodies...  he he he...  I hope they're playable, or at least not disgusting.  The species editor will fix this problem, but that is six releases down the road.

I'm working on the reptiles now.  Of course, now that I'm actually using my new motif editor for something, the little bugs start creeping through.  Nothing major yet...  when I tried to give the reptiles the possibility of having forked tongues, that was fine, but when I tried to tell it to make the tongue fork near the tip of the tongue, it made the tongue narrower instead.  Things like that...  I'm sure that won't be the last one of these to crop up...

On the upside, there aren't any major challenges left.  I just need to find a little time (2-3 days?  a little more?), then I'll release.

The status screens are pretty much done.  I just need to add a few mouse buttons to them.  That'll take about five minutes.  So it's really just bugs now.  There are ten or so (most of them very minor and easy to fix).  The largest obstacle to the new release is now the lock up bug that occurs sometimes during combat.  If things go very smoothly, I'd expect to release sometime early next week.

I'm glad EZ Board hasn't erased it.  I just went back there and sifted through all of the posts for content.  Maybe over the next few days I'll start adding more things to the future page.  That's always fun.  I'll be going through the posts here shortly.  It might be time to add an index to the future page so I can keep track of things better.

Tonight (I'm in my math office now, but I stop serving the PDE undergraduate community in 1/2 hour) I should be able to scratch a few items off the plan list.  The main interface screen just needs a few more tweaks (like body trauma indicators).

I'm also dealing with an annoying lock-up bug.  I think it comes from item sullying, but I'm not sure.  Maybe the text message buffer...

I'm not done yet, but I'm working on it.  I'm doing the model editor now.  It will be kind of substandard...  doing a great model editor now would probably be a waste of time.  So it won't be convenient, but it will be... usable.

Maybe I will actually finish by July.  That would be weird.

The creature form editor is done.  Now you can expand on the notions of "humanoid" and "quadruped".

I'm basically done with the material editor (still need to do material color).  I've also written in a such a way it is reusable and very easy to change, so subsequent editors should take less and less time to program.

Some unfortunate things have come up (not just Christmas), and I have to leave for the rest of the month.  I should have some opportunities to draw up the interface pictures while I'm away, but this place will continue to be quiet for a few more weeks.  Oh well.  That's how it goes.

I did something today.  It's about time.  Items get chipped, scratched, and break into pieces now.  Wounds detract from a creature's ability to move and attack.

I'm going to pop off item sullying for fun with the rest of my night...  what's a game like this without bloody weapons...

I'm done with everything that needed doing regarding school this quarter.  I should be able to finish things up smoothly now.  I'm hoping to get done with the first editor today and move on from there.  I'm going to be teaching calculus during the summer, which will eat up some time, but that doesn't start for a few weeks.

I put something up.  It'll probably be very slow on most computers, but I need more feedback on that.  It shouldn't be that hard to fix, given that the graphics aren't all that complicated.
