And then it go political.
Godwins law: Politics edition.
I'd say Nazi's where pretty political people.
Oh god, I've started Godwin's law. I'm sorry.

I wondered if I caused it.
Of course you caused it! Whenever anyone does something symbolic, it's obvious that they would have caused it!
I mean, why would the sun rise, otherwise?

Other Games / Re: Missing Sandbox Games

That's a rather interesting thought. I think it's almost rhetorical. What sandbox games are missing? How can you know, if you've never heard of them?

I'd suggest something like a weapon building game, where you have to design weapons to try and.. I dunno, demolish a wall or something, so the most ingenious weapon scores the highest points.

Perhaps.. Knowing this community.. A sandbox game where you build sandbox games? ;D

At any rate, I'm currently enjoying Orbiter. The spaceship-flying simulator/sandbox... If anyone cares.

and I would never inflict that on the players.
Remember that the player needs to realize and understand gravitational orbits as well.
I'd hate to have to get my head around an orbital mechanic just to be able to play a tactical game.

Basically, if you're in orbit, how the heck do you dodge a missile? Such a situation gets even weirder when said orbit is perfectly 2d.

Personally, I'd just make sure the frames are always well away from a planet, so that way you can just fob the lack of orbital dynamic off on the fact that all the combat is just taking place in relative space.

open source
No. It started as a Half-Life 2 mod. It runs on the Source engine but is not open source.
Just like to reinforce that statement. GMod has never been, or has ever been considered to be at any point, Open Source.

Built any awesome stuff?
As a wire user, I've built a few cool things, from a garage workshop with a heavy lifting crane to a working hover bike... That hovers, rather than flies.
I'd have to say my best creation though, if only in terms of humour, was the flying ship I made.
Flew it around a busy server, singing You are a Pirate down the mic.

No offence, Moogie... But I don't think you're qualified to make a small business grade website.
Mainly because I've worked in the "industry" (for a few months at least), and I'd say I'm barely qualified for the job.

Creating a website is tough, I've only made little ones and damn I knew I was way over my head but the people who do it as a job get a couple of hundred for EACH website :O
This is true. And there's a reason websites cost so much.
I've personally said "I'm not making websites anymore. End of.", which fits nicely with the fact I don't professionally work on websites any more. If someone offered me some money, I might be turned around on the subject, but we all know how likely that is.  :D

You have already taken your first step to being "that computer guy/girl". Now that you feel loathing for the willfully uninformable, it is time to accept your fate and walk on over to the dark side. Its ok, we have cookies.
We're the dark side?
Where are the cookies?

If you explain that a webiste design costs thousands of whatever your currency is, and there's good reason for that, then they should hopefully be less demanding.
Unless it's yen! Ho ho ho.

This has gotten me wondering though. Is there anyone on this forum who doesn't know how to upgrade RAM, or similar? Threads like these make it feel like Dwarf Fortress this entire forum is only for people whom are regarded as "tech support" to their families.

Might even include orbital mecanics if the AI can handle it.
Orbital Mechanics? In an RTS? Really?

The only game I've ever played with Orbital Mechanics in it was Orbiter, and, in all honesty, I can see why.
(I don't see how an RTS could possibly have a friendly interface along side something as complex as orbit.)

Sounds awesome, Dragon!
... Tempted to just call you spike. It's much easier.

Also, I mentioned about the MLP MUD idea to someone else, then they in turn pressed me for details, so I'm going to drag that back up briefly. Have you heard any more on the subject?

And now, I think there's nothing left for it. I must... Go and get an avatar.

The only problem now is that I can't access "array_bestiary" from another sub, and I know I shouldn't have to re-fill that array every time I want to look through it.
I'm not sure how you really want to do this, and I know this can open up a lot of cross-threading issues, however, the quickest way to grant access to that array would be to elevate it to a static status.
If the code was in C#, I'd post a snippet on how to do that, but I'm not exactly 100% on the way VB layout works. (Never really bothered with it, since it lacks { and }.)
