Just watched the Sherlock New Year's special. I'm certain it's no coincidence that it aired on the same date as Third Impact.

A very merry New Year's message from Ted Cruz. I sure love me a good cringefest.

In this moment, I am euphoric.

Not because of any phony Western degeneracy.

But because, Vladimir Putin has ascended to become a professional quote maker.

Walter Mondale wrote a column for WaPo today. I had completely forgotten Walter Mondale was still alive.

Why do I feel if the Titanic sank today people would probably invent a conspiracy that it was sunk intentionally because it was "Unsinkable"?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMS_Titanic_alternative_theories

I like the one about it being sunk by the mummy's curse.

If the ship had actually hit the iceberg, the heat from its fuel would have melted the iceberg. Inside job confirmed.

You don't even need antibiotics for cholera. The standard cure for cholera is to drink gallons and gallons of medical-grade Gatorade until you've shat the bacterium out of your system completely.

Civcraft doesn't support flying slime blocks :(
aww.
Wait you can do that?
Yeah combined with sticky pistons you can make small machines that crawl across the sky one piston pump at a time.

Too bad. Regularly scheduled flights at molasses-speed would be exactly the sort of pointless effort-sink a Dwarf Fortress encampment needs.

Activism is more important than voting, so I'd buy some necromantic texts and get to studying instead of just waiting around for someone to call back the souls of competent politicians from the Void.

The Zombie Human Richard Nixon bites the Tea Partier Ted Cruz in the neck and the severed part sails off in an arc!
The Tea Partier Ted Cruz has been found dead.
The Zombie Human Richard Nixon has been elected mayor.
The Zombie Mayor Richard Nixon has mandated the construction of the EPA and OSHA.

This IS FootJob we're talking about. It sounds like something he'd do.

If, somehow, pigs grow wings and he does actually win the primary and then the election, I'll be kicking myself. Most politicians are asshats, so I'll prefer Hillary's policies to Kasich's and vote for her with my teeth gritted, even though Kasich has more integrity than Hillary does (OK, the guy's not a saint, but compared to the rest of the GOP field, he's pretty damn good). It's not about bringing about a new era of bipartisan progress- it's about being an obnoxious contrarian. I might write in Zombie Eisenhower in the general.

253
Why in the hell would you give money to that parasite?

Contrarianism! Also, alcohol.

254
Despite the fact that I am almost certain to vote Democrat in the general election, I have just made my first political contribution-$20 to Kasich. I might blame all the mulled wine I've been downing when I wake up tomorrow morning. Sympathetic magic, or something, I guess. It's completely useless since he's fated to lose the primary (thanks, teabaggers), but...eh. I'm a useless person. (And contrarian to a fault).

I have no idea how long I played Civ II today but it was several hours at the very least.

I am unsure if getting this was a good or a bad thing.
Good thing. Very good thing. I haven't played any Civ with a friend recently... Which sucks, because I got CIVIV and all the expansions-Thus I want to play it with someone.

I uninstalled Civ V a couple days ago...it's way too much of a time sink.
