An unskilled dwarf will almost always land a nasty wound on an unarmored target if the dwarf hits.So which is it?
Heh, my bad. It's unarmored. Every actual hit was a torn muscle, severed limb, or torn artery.

Ah, my bad. Still, no caverns and minimal rock layers works wonders for your FPS. You might get upwards of at least 200 if you turn off temperature, caverns, magma, the circus, etc.

you could have an herbalist's workshop, where an herbalist could "collect coconuts" or "harvest bamboo stalks", producing one unit of coconuts and one wooden block to prevent recursive coconut collection.

Porin Keeperechoes-Porin thanked the dwarf before walking to the door and pulling it open. A loud creak announced the entry of the freezing cold into the room, but eventually the room was filled with cold air, and Porin, immune to magic from the armor, walked out without so much as a chill.

Porin entered the duke's chamber and met up with Taric.
Bjorn Inmus-Bjorn (3) casted a burst of fire into the surrounding area, thawing himself, before (1) setting himself on fire and starting the trek to the castle.

Bjorn entered the duke's chamber, still on fire, before putting himself out with a quick water spell.
Bjorn: Does anyone else smell something burning?

Tarran Terra-Staring up at the now-snow-white sky, Tarran called out to the skies to stop it with the freezing.

As soon as he said this, the skies turned a vicious blood-red. Through the endless blizzard, Tarran could see great balls of fire fall from the heavens, roasting the victims of their impact.
Tarran: I think I've gone too far.
Tarran proceeded to the duke's room.

'Zrk'-Zrk, knowing that his armor would conduct the heat away from his body, (4) put away his armor and marched onwards to the castle, narrowly dodging a meteor impact to his left.

Oh, one more thing. You'll unfortunately need to regen the world for it to take effect, so I'm not sure if it'll work too well on your current fort.
One thing you CAN do is replace the contents of an existing reaction with the new reaction. If you don't ever need to glaze jugs, for example, you can copy the reagents and products over the original ones, and now instead of glazing jugs, you can craft gem picks at the kiln. I'm not sure if you can change the workshop without a regen, but you definitely need to keep the original name.
Remember this for later, you can always CHANGE reactions, but adding new ones requires a regen. This helps a ton when you're trying to debug issues with reactions.
