I normally play the part from worthless peasant with a stick to Lord of X naturally, since its hard, fun and the progression is visible and quick.

After that it just bogs down so hard and I hate waiting for the ai lords to get there things into gear that I cheat a lil bit (shame on me) and even it out by breaking off to forming my indi-kingdom.

I tend to play a peasant woman, who one day conquers a castle and becomes queen. Pretty much as hard as you can make the game, hahaha. I like to give out fiefs to the female companions as well.

M&B is really just a game I play for relaxing, it's flexible and easy to play - and cheat in. I can play it for hours and not get frustrated, because if it annoys me, I can just bounce back with some cheats. It's not like say, Total War which I like, but it's really annoying to try and cheat that game, and it frustrates me after a while sometimes.

I played as Norway from the beginning once, and won the invasion of England sherry a few false starts. I had occupied every single holding.

Cue to me holding one or two counties and everything else held by angry English vassals.

Why didn't I get everything? It was all occupied. And the Norman's were out of the war by that point...

It was a little annoying...

The Cassus Belli system is kind of annoying like that sometimes. It's not very specific sometimes if your CB means you gain control of your holdings personally, or you just end up getting the owner as a vassal.

I kind of miss just getting to attack someone because you can.

I am amused at how well this game handles cheating.

It doesn't break, it doesn't cap, it just let you be.

Catching up with horse raiders, dodging arrows and killing them with a dagger, never gets old.

Yeah M&B is a game I can have a lot of fun with when cheating. Though I usually only use the teleporting and map reveal cheat to track down quest targets I either can't find (How was I supposed to know that Forest Bandit ended up in the desert?) or can't catch and I don't want to disband my entire elite army to catch them. I sometimes use the health cheat sparingly, but I try not too or only use it in a situation I could see a "health potion", as it were, to cheat.

Other times, I get bored and see what happens if you make max level everything.

Only if you don't have the attractive trait.

Well my first ruler can do that, but then anything after that is the genetics game...

Selling daughters for alliances is pretty much how it was.

It's a good historical game that can make you act historically.

So wait, do I do it wrong when I try to make queendoms?  ::)

I've never made regular kicking work in the first place. :(

It works, you've just got to get really close. Which is difficult because, unless they're wielding a dagger, they'll prefer to stand further back than you need; worse, they back away if you approach and bumrushing them will usually just get you stabbed for your troubles. The best bet is to push them into a corner like jester said and spam the kick key. The first one or two probably won't land, but once one does, they're screwed.

The ideal time to practice is during an ambush in a town at night; you'll have heavy armour, they... don't. Plus there's a certain comedy to a group of bandits trying to jump a guy, only to all slowly succumb to being repeatedly booted in the nuts.

It's worth noting a kick is easy to stunlock someone with, but if they're wearing even half-way decent armor, your kicks will never hurt them. It's amusing though.

Been playing Liberation Maiden off the eShop. It's not terribly long but it's a lot of fun as a mecha shootemup. It's also like $6

Oh yeah, that's probably worth it. I mean, how many games let you play as the female Japanese president of Japan out to free it from evil in a mecha? It's like Metal Wolf Chaos but less narmy!

I'm biased as I always love the series, but there IS Harvest Moon New Beginnings on the 3DS that looks pretty good.

I'll see about making some time for Mabinogi in the coming days, though I will admit my schedule is pretty full it feels like...

Shamala looks pretty nice, by the way. That character art~

Besides not being able to mess with families and claims, I don't have any real complaints about Ruler Designer. I mean, really, how else are you going to get yourself a Greek-race German in Ireland at the beginning of the game?

Not to mention it's the only way to try and do a female-ruler only run  ::)
I mean, yeah you can edit the game directly, but that's like. Effort. Also only way I can make Basque... until I just console it now so I can go Absolute Cognatic...

They'll probably do another Double Rainbow for Christmas-ish time. They seem to be doing them a lot lately.

Now I wonder if you can still custom create a female ruler and try to only have female Patricians. Hmmmm.
