I've embarked in some evil biomes and the worst experience I had was a skeletal mountain goat once beat two of my dwarves to death. (Or maybe it was Suikas, I forget)

It's kind of a let-down, but maybe I'm just not getting the REALLY terrifying stuff like fire imps and stuff.

totally is. i have ordered steel gear to be made now, though.
funny thing is, your dorf jumped the bed two days after diagnose, with several breaks still, but oh well, it's only a flesh wound. we DO have a chief medical dwarf, but he seems not to be very competent. Also: no rotting flesh so far! One of them was deadly frozen spittle, one was webs. no poison or the likes, so our fort should be okay.

Good ol' Dwarven steel.
Well that's good, although keep an eye open anyway... you never know. Them FBs and Titans can be tricky...

How do I go about addding in a custom graphic? I understand when it's a pre-made set but... I'm trying to mod in a new race to play with, and a friend made me a single sprite for it. Looking at the raws, I can't really understand how they actually determine which icon is used and stuff.. I'm confused

And wow I got beaten up pretty bad... I lived though! Do we even have a medical team all set up yet? Also I just remembered that since we had a FB around... and now a Titan, let's hope neither had any bad diseases...

And is that Exceptional gear I spotted in the logs a bit? Quite nice there.

Our first FB! And it was made of RED DIAMONDS :o Too bad we can't carve up the body and get those diamonds.

Also I remember hearing that an artifact that uses either bones at all, or as the main ingredient, is bugged and the rest of the materials gathered will just cease to exist. Pretty annoying.

Also keep in mind the game warns you about a aquifer even if it only exists in 1 tile of your embark area.

It is easier to just delete them though.

That would be our first artifact isn't it? Not too shabby, sure not really useful but... it looks pretty, right!? And we got a legendary glassmaker out of it? Maybe not the most useful, but it can't hurt I suppose. We'll be ready for any glass-hungry nobles.

Also as a heads-up, I'm a girl  :P

As I start work here, I notice for the whole body generation and such (the stuff like voice, head features, etc.) there are a few tokens shown but... do we really have a clue what will even work? Just a fluff question is all.

I would like to know how to stop them from being able to be gigantic blobs of fat though. Also you can adjust the rate of skill gain and skill rust correct?

make the metal boil at body temp and make the syndrome activate when inhaled (you need to make your dwarves wear nether-cap gauntlets or something like that so that they don't kill themselves by picking up the bolts)

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but what would stop these bolts from boiling when handled by dwarves?
nether caps are GREAT insulation, someone in another thread said nether cap gauntlets prevent the boiling, and can possibly lower damage from magma!

I believe this is due to Nethercaps having a fixed temperature of 10,000U. Always.

To have them not bleed, you just need to not have a defined [BLOOD:whatever] token, I think.

That would make the entire creature bloodless, not just the wings. Heres what I posted to a very similar question recentelly:

    [PLUS_TISSUE_LAYER:SKIN:BY_CATEGORY:WING]
      [TL_VASCULAR:0]


As for the tail it will be made of whatever else your creature is made of.

Well I just wanted the wings to be bloodless, since I remember in the Gardens of Gensokyo mod thread that the faeries seemed to die a lot - because their wings are unprotected, get shredded, and they die from horrible blood loss.

Ah yes I remember another question, Dwarves have the tokens if [RINGS] [SPIKES] etc. is there any listing of which tokens will work for the kind of things the race likes to make for decorations? Or is it just kind of type it in and hope?

EDIT:
How could I make some kind of "workshop" that would have a command to let you "use" it to level up skills? Libraries I guess.
