DF Gameplay Questions / Won't go get healed up?

Fairly early on in my fort, one of my dwarves (specifically my chief medical dwarf >.>) got injured. He's supposedly healed now, and goes about his business like nothing's wrong. However, every so often he gets the job 'clean self', and when I checked why he was traipsing to my well I noticed he had some of his own blood on him. I checked his health screen, and when I realized I had to scroll down, I saw his left elbow was in yellow text and his left hip was in red.

They still are.

I have a hospital, with lots and lots of stuff, and plenty of other dwarves who can fix him up, but he won't gooo! He just occasionally makes my well dirtier. >.>

Right then. Going to go through my dorfs and look for someone who likes things like dactite, limestone, galena, silver, lead, yellow jasper, citrine, green glass... and dog leather and/or bones. Or even better, cat leather and/or bones.

Edit: Oh, if I can't find any dorfs who have sufficiently easy to please tastes by next year, and I decide to keep my distance, would the liasion ask again the year after that?

Um.

So the outpost liasion comes over to my expedition leader and among other things asks for a recommendation for a dorf to elevate.

1. Wat?

2. Um. I kind of left that screen w/o picking anyone or preferring to keep distance from mountainhome. Uh... can I get the screen again next year? :(

Later on in a fort's life, I'm usually overflowing in roasts and goblin-dropped clothing, so I'm searching for anything of any value at all to buy off a caravan so I can get more stuff sold & out of my fort, and food & drink have at least some utility.

You do know you can give stuff away, right? :D
