I wanted to make a completely unreadable mess but smf doesn't have the seventy different emojis i'd need to do so. whatever. If you'd like to reel it in and you even have the bag and you just wanna tell a friend, give this song a listen. Standard car-wash-ass-shake tomfoolery gets old right when they start playing around with it. Looks less like underpaid models being objectified and more like people having fun and recording a rap mv.

Exactly like bingo
But with more blackouts and accidental, regrettable sex Exactly like bingo.
Grandma didn't raise no bingo scrubs
Only a coward regrets blackouts and sex during their bingo/drinking binges

The world has just over a decade to get climate change under control, U.N. scientists say

The chance of us actually fixing the global warming problem is rapidly approaching 0%. The more I learn about this issue the more i'm pretty sure that the only remotely possible way to stop that regression would be... well, severely drastic measures that are never going to happen.

So I love Goblin Slayer like the slightly better than average worldbuilding inside a trashy action thriller it is, but fuck that shit. Where's my god damn dungeon meshi anime???

Find other people in IT who would know much better than me how best to use this power, and get them to tell me what to do.

Although I do think this opens up to a broader discussion on information ethics. When is it ethical to deplatform a radical group? Precedence tells us that only those who directly incite violence should be silenced. I don't really know, but we could probably start by instantly banning anyone who harrasses other people on social media. Clean the place up a little bit, maybe even make something like twitter actually pleasant.

on the poll: are ya'll talking about calvinism? Because my dad is probably the most theologically well read person i've ever met and even he couldn't explain predestination, and he had an hour to do it.

It has something to do with how predestination (the idea that God has already decided who goes to heaven) is a seperate idea than God knowing everyone who's going to hell? I think.

On that note, what vodka does bay 12 prefer? I'm somewhere between khortytsa and hammer & sickle for good cheaper vodka. Luwoska tastes like garbage but it's cheap and great for mixing into riot punch or other drinks. what about ya'll?

con weekend got real ugly real quick near the end.

Friend of mine had a thing with a pretty prominent VA, and in the interest of preserving privacy a whole lot of not good shit went down. She brought it to the people running the con we go to every year and the last I heard was that he wasn't allowed there anymore.

Well, lo and behold last day of the con me and a few friends run into him. She didn't do to well knowing he was around (she thought he was trying to do the old "she might say I'm an abuser but i'm actually super nice so isn't it her who's crazy?" thing) but I think I was able to communicate that we kind of got ambushed by the guy. So, I guess he wasn't banned from attending after all.

I don't really know what to do to help. I was very angry but, what am I gonna do, beat the tar outta a vip? One of the directors suggested I get in touch with the guys running this whole shebang so that's what I'll do for now. But if I can't convince them I don't know if I wanna go to this shit anymore. What's the fun if one of my friends is gonna get reminded of a bunch of traumatic shit? It's just not worth it in the end, even if I have been going for like six years.

Central Georgia says: we're just staying inside. Not gonna hit us too hard, but we wish all the best to everyone in NC/SC! Stock up on bread and milk and campbells soup.

HURRICANE PARTYYYYY

Turns out, noone's gonna stay inside since we're central ga not coastal ga. I have been drinking many liquor drinks, and perhaps even a beer or two. No other activites were commenced that would be considered illegal.

On an unrelated note, still not a fan of opioids! Never really have been and my brief run in tonight has continued to drive me away, like a lover in the night.

I imagine it'd be pretty hard to even argue whether the anywhere-from-<1-to-slightly-higher percent chance of a false positive is worth the net cost of interring death row inmates in life confinement in any sort of polite conversation. Personally? We have the fucking government for a reason, and it's not so they can blow three people's lifetime tax income on fixing a fucking f-15 engine, it's so that they can eat said internment cost so that innocent people aren't put to death.

Although, there's an argument to be made in that anyone innocent who made it to death row probably has people who want them there, and the chance of them being released is already depressingly low.

If it were possible to reverse death, would execution be justified?

And now, we sentence you to minor inconvenience.

Or maybe we could just cryo-freeze people like in demolition man.

Oubliette style hellish murder imprisonment for shitty places, life internment for the rest probably.

I looked into this for a discussion on another forum, and the whole issue seems way overblown.

The South African government has had the power to remove farmers with market-rate compensation ever since the end of Apartheid, it's an eminent domain type of law. The law change just meant they don't have to offer you market-rate anymore. That means the government would be free to e.g. offer some compensation that's between 0% and 100%, while currently they can always do it if they offer 100%. So, with the law change a more reasonable prediction of how a law like that would be used would be to offer some fractional amount of compensation, say 70% of market rate. This could be used as a threat which would encourage people to just sell their land before the government offers you below market rates. So, one or two white farmers could be asked to sell their land at 70% of market rate and suddenly, a whole lot of other farmers would be thinking about selling their land, which would make things much easier for the government than trying to take over a whole lot of farms and distribute them.

I figured as much; some research I did before I went to sleep last night seems to point to all of this bullshit being related to a spate of killings (of black and afrikaner citizens) happening recently and going back to after Apartheid was dismantled. It's just tensions so far, I think as long as the govt keeps a cool head (and maybe heads of this kalah paramilitary shit at the source) they should come out alright.

I think the situation is way more complex then you guys (other then Reelya) are making it out to be.

It's not just "ooohhh, the whites were bad, lets take stuff away from them to give to the blacks". Apartheid was a complex and legally enforced concept that happened within living memory. There are black people alive today who had their lands seized without or with little restitution and given to white people. On the whole they had over 40 years of legally enforced inequality that's left a huge wealth gap between people, and leaving that to fester isn't exactly a smart idea either.

Ultimately restitution is a very complex question that I don't have any answers at all for, but just saying "muh reverse racism, muh zimbabwe." and trying to ignore the question is absolutely one of the more painful and damaging answers, even if there might be worse ones.

It's a cultural thing, I think. People with more conservative leanings (or more disgustingly, and more often, alt right leanings) in the US are so used to trumpeting the whole horseshit line about slavery happening forever ago that they miss the significance of these situations in SA.

Sorry for derailing the thread!

Got pretty drunk last night despite my limited funds.
Saw great bands, headbanged my neck into oblivion, and later on dropped a glass (can't remember if there was beer in it or not) and somehow mildly wounded a couple of my fingers in the process.

Also I can now say I've been to Mernda. Twice. >.>
I really need to make a habit of standing up on trains when I'm that drunk or hungover...

Hey, 10$ potato vodka is the solution to all of the poor man's problems.

Also, drinking/smoking at concerts is the best, i'd definitely recommend.
