The numerous kills of some bronze Colossus, Milol Battleclash the Renown of Danger, and also those of a savanna Titan, a giant and a cyclops. They killed mostly humans and elfs, must explain why the latter seem to be extinct.
Understandably, when that very colossus arrived to visit my fortress, I freaked out. (I had to savescum because the fight turned both way too silly and way too dangerous for my megaproject dwarfs. Now, I am waiting for a real confrontation)
Of course, another image they like a lot is the foundation of Windslap by the previous bunch of alcoholic midgets, and the appointment/rejections of all militia commanders I had.

MUHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHA IT WORKS
My global mist generator system works! Now, there's a veil of mist in all the main halls of the fort! I can switch it on and off at will, and the risk of flooding is very limited! I did it! And it can refill the hospital well, too! And it was all designed and finished in only 14 years!
Now, all I need to do is a little tweaking. Then, finish building the giant statue of Zuglar the Oar of Yearlings, dwarf god of lakes, oceans, coasts, rivers, and children, so that it looks like he's pouring the water from his blue hands. Then... dunno, I'll make more statues probably.
My semi-useful megaproject.... it's so pretty.  :'(

Yep, a megaproject, if possible. A big hulking statue of whatever you want, or a fortress inside said statue, or flooding the map with magma without a convenient volcano, or...

Destroy a hatch from below, maybe, but literally going through? IIRC there were reports of the damned things teleporting through walls, or something.

I want to have a megabeast or non-flying random beast dodge off a cliff over a 100 level drop into a magma pit. I will use as many dwarves as I need to make this happen.
Had an unharmed Forgotten Beast dodge a punch from a planter whose hand it had already ripped off. 4 z-levels below, it was dead. I wish it had been as epic as your idea.

Negligence of bugs? Sure, must be easy dealing with bugs when you're the only developer, it's not like thousands of programmer teams who are paid to do exactly this never took more than a couple months to fix benign bugs.

Anyway. I don't care if Toady updates in time for Christmas, however, all I hope is that the next releases comes before the fall of my current fortress and that it includes more fun stuff. Can't celebrate properly, there's apparently no elf in my world. Alas!

Winter 263: Windslap's hospital got a functioning well. AT LAST.
It is a small revolution here.

Getting a working well was the first accomplishment I was proud of at DF. Congrats :)
Thanks! Now the doctors are seeing their patients within the week of their admission and almost seem eager to help them. There was a time where no patient would die of anything else but thirst. This era of mass dehydration is finished!
Oh, also, barony. Two more diplomats are waiting in line now.

What is this thing called "noise"? I've never heard of it.

Have you actually seen any bad thoughts related to noise? I sure haven't.
I did! "He slept uneasily due to noise lately", or thoughts about these lines.

Depends. Rarer gems that I'd like to have? I dig 'em out and leave the room misshapen. Gems I already have truckloads of, like moss agates? I leave them where they are and engrave on them.
