((Copycat. :P))

Nuriel chases the fighter so she can rip into the cockpit and chuck out the pilot. She also dodges any attacks coming her way.

What can we choose for prizes?

Locate some kind of non-destroyed shelter, pronto.

We're not talking about automanipulators the size of pocket calculators, here - we're talking about an automanipulator large enough to have the capacity to cool a decently large sphere to 2-3K, and in doing so shield that heat of life support, the automanips you would need to use for movement (the tyranny of the rocket equation is still in effect here, if you don't use them - you start to go a bit beyond 'fighter' scale if you plan to have any decent velocity, return capability, and manoeuvring capability), and the power source for all of the automanips.
You misread. He was saying that he felt that the actual, physics-abiding portion of the manipulator wouldn't take more juice than a pocket calculator.

Point two: I wasn't suggesting putting automanips for movement into it.  That's stupid.  You have a space magic avatar sitting there, so why not use that?
How does this matter? The avatar only has space magic because of manips.

Two: Best argument against shade fighters: This is a game, and PW balances the game.  Just like we didn't give everyone battlesuits before the defense of hephaestus because he would have just given us tougher opponents, if we actually did manufacture a bunch of advanced and powerful fighters, he would just make space battles comparatively harder.
So we shouldn't strive to improve our characters or their tools? Maybe we should cripple ourselves, to weaken the UWM more?

Ship Delta: Team F: Grate

Actually, I'd like to go to the escape pods. Was that unclear?

"Actually, now that I think of it, we might not even need to be self-sustainable. It's probably safe to assume that someone, somewhere has decided to travel around, trading and living off the profits. Our group is slightly too large for it to be viable, but if we start producing, say, lots of grain with these fields, more than we'll need, we can trade some for necessary supplies, such as antibiotics and ammunition. If we go with this plan, it'll take a while until the word spreads among the caravaneers, but we could become an important hub for trade and food production if we're lucky. How does that sound?"
"Assumin' that caravans exist, wi' the stuff we need. Assumin' we can attract 'em, and that we're somma th' first settlements in th' region wi' caravans. We sh'dn't bet our eggs b'fore they hatch."

"True enough. But that would also make it easier for us to be found."
"If we 'ad more proof a' bandits and more abil'ty to set stuff up special, y'might have a point."

GreatWyrmGold: You like to argue, and our discussion about darkpaladin's reaction to the initial vote never seemed to go anywhere. You've also made it clear that you don't like the idea of playing for the team. Still, I think you're town. Who do you think the mafia is?
I don't mind playing for the team. I mind people saying that pointless death is perfectly okay.
GWG: You haven't really said anything of note since day 2 began. Where do you think each of us stand?
I don't know. I would have thought darkpaladin, since he had reason to dislike TheDarkStar, but...he's not.
And you know what? I'm increasingly content to not know.

Elephant Parade: You seem to be the most active right now. However, your post about the mafia killing you to frame me is a little suspicious. Were you trying to use that as a cover for night-killing TheDarkStar and framing me?
...No? That's not a very open-ended question, you know. How did you expect me to respond?
It's a rhetorical question.

@GWG: If the lynch had not been on the town doctor, there is a chance the scum kill would have been blocked.
My point.

Perhaps, in a region full of smaller entities, there is an archipelago run by a large empire.
Um...
Not really feeling a wellspring of inspiration today.

And some of us would also prefer to avoid giving ffs a chance to ridicule us.

Make sure someone keeps that fire going! Fire is life. It is food, defense, comfort, and time itself if needed. The guy doing so needn't be skilled at outdoor stuff, but must be competent.

If someone other than the fire watcher is familiar with gardening or farming, have one such individual plant the seeds we have. Once they're planted, this individual should mark the garden off from everything else so no one walks on it. Ideally, there would be a quasi-fence of sticks stuck in the ground or something around the garden.
Our second priority at this time to make a place where we can spend the night without freezing or being totally miserable. Some people should locate a dry hole, nook, or something sheltered by the tree if our current location is damp. They should make sure that it's big enough for everyone to sleep in without being too crowded; if it isn't, they should look for more space. Ideally, we'd have separate "chambers" for men and women, but if we don't have enough big ones, we'll make do. Next, they should gather dry leaves and such and lay piles of them over the harder parts of whatever. Or start at a later step if we've finished the first few. Or check around for other possible living-quarters-to-be. Or adorn our current sleeping areas so they're more comfortable.
Anyone left over or finished with their previous task should try to find more food sources. Rivers with fish, good-sized fruit trees, areas of rich edible flora or fauna, etc.

...Wait, GWG is the only person who even remotely agrees with me.  You guys are right, this must be infeasible.  ._.
Hey!

The issue I see with using an automanip to mask its thermal signature is that it would be a feedback loop - the automanip cools the surface, but requires power to do so, powering the automanip makes more heat, which means the automanip must get rid of more heat, which means it needs more power, which means more heat, so on and so forth.
Let's assume that automanips obey the laws of thermodynamics like that, rather than increasing the overall universal entropy in some other way or just ignoring the Second Law entirely. It'd still be useful for short-term stealth.

EVERYONE IS AFFECTED BY THE INSANITY PENALTY! THERE IS NO EXCAPE, ONLY MURDER!
Which is insane.

There is no stealth in space. It's simply not possible.
Neither is quantum immortality, phasing through solid objects, setting things on fire with your brain...
It's something to look into. If nothing else, we could look into heat sinks.

"There's many more, slightly more alarming things wrong with your eyesight, ole fella," Majikthise says, rubbing her temple to alleviate the mild frustration. "No offense."
((In my defense, I have no idea who anyone is.))
