Einsteinian Roulette / Re: Einsteinian Roulette: Repair and Rescue

((May has only saved people, thank you very much. And sure, you can argue in OOC, but if Stephen Hawking has wanted to portray himself as a responsible and capable person ready to head out with the big kids, he's been doing a pretty damn bad job.))
((Which is something I plan to fix IC. At least a bit.))
((I was just speaking on what he's been doing. There's always the possibility of him becoming lucid or something.))
((You made me laugh.))

"NOT YOUR BUSINESS!"

"...I am going to stay far away from you if we ever do get one."

And how do they fire the guns?
Lots of different ways. Context-sensitive commands/motions, buttons operated by the left hand, voice commands (why do you think everybody yells while attacking?).
The first one seems dangerous. The second, slightly less so. The third isn't terrible, but it still has issues. And overall, they fall prey to the second major issue: Multitasking. Your giant robot is going to be wanting to fall down more often than not, and you're being fired at. Combine that with selecting a target, aiming (compensating for range, movement, and potential dodging), and firing, and you have a recipe for disaster.
Needing two pilots is probably the only sensible thing about the Jaegers (Pacific Rim).
Analog? Really?

Wouldn't it screw up the aim to have to have their mecha arms in a certain position every time they want to fire their mecha weapons?
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this, to be honest.
I was assuming some sort of button in the cockpit would need to be pressed.

Much less creepy (and much more face) after a reboot.

I don't know if I should point out the difficulty of making such an AI or the many dangers of leaving that up to a computer.

"Like wormholes are such a great thing. And are you sure we should have Selina's first translocation circle thingy be one across an ocean?"

((So much for flying over my intended plot hook.))

"Does this mean I have to go back to sensitivity training?"
"It wouldn't hurt."

All it would have to do is staunch blood flow and patch up some holes, hmmmm, there was a thing were you could use a gun to graft skin onto people, but that requires some skin tissue from somewhere uningured, a few days and a medical teams worth of tubes to pump in nutrients like glucose to allow the cells to grow and be able to grow skin on their own.
We can work on mediguns later.

If there's a direct neural uplink, perhaps. If, and perhaps. Otherwise, the pilot's going to be busy enough with dodging and not falling over that he'll need someone else to handle the missiles, guns, or whatever.
Nah, everybody knows that you only need 2 levers and at most 10 buttons to expertly pilot a giant robot! More seriously, I picture that something along the lines of the Mobile Trace System (ie. motion capture equipment) is probably used.
And how do they fire the guns? Wouldn't it screw up the aim to have to have their mecha arms in a certain position every time they want to fire their mecha weapons?

"We probably can't all fit under the teleporty cloth, so we'll have to fly."

10361
Dr. Drake smacks both of them.
"Real medikits, idiots."

Nuriel would never enjoy being in Pyroland.
And Angel isn't crazy enough to go there.
"Hey!"

And what would Commissar Snikerbottum do? Also Keith. And generally anyone else interested in the idea.
Steal all the Australium.

If we did this, though...Will would so be the sniper.

10364
"EEP!" Selina was surprised by this, but hugs back more, hoping Shys'm Caes would also join.
Amusingly, Nuriel was hoping the exact opposite.

((I'm confused are we a cleric? Paliden maybe? What are we?))
We should get right to it...when we're not being force-choked!

Politely smile, and point behind them. Also point out the fact that in order to survive, they're going to either want to start running, or start preparing their teleportation spells. Both of which will take time they won't have if they try to kill you.

((AKA Activate just-as-planned mode. Considering they haven't even moved from the walls, and pissed off an entire guild of mages. And a temple full of clerics. They're as good as dead :P

Though next time, THIS is why we be subtle :| ))
+1

If we can't do that...

"Why kill me now? Why didn't you do it earlier, when you stole my weapons? You could have slit my throat and be done with me if you really wanted me dead."
