Who cares about efficiency when you have black hole cannons?
*raises hand*

Who cares about efficiency when you have black hole cannons?
When my ER character first got the shackle, I hoped it was some sort of antimatter cannon. Maybe the Shackles have a button combination to shoot a small black hole at somebody.
Remember what I said about the scariness radius of black holes? Unless they're small enough that they "evaporate" almost instantly, anywhere in the atmosphere would fall within that radius if you're on the planet.

Anyways, black hole cannons.
Simplest way I can see them working is that we have a big gun barrel on a ship, which we can put rocks in; an automanip compresses all material in a certain area down to a single point or so, then flings it outwards. Also, the inside of the barrel and the front of the ship need to be hardened against Hawking radiation one way or another. Hopefully, the Hawking radiation will be screwing with the enemy ships.

If there are windows in the basement, attempt to escape through the biggest one.
If there are no sufficiently large windows in the basement, attempt to locate some large, heavy tool and knock a hole in the wall.
If that also fails, attempts to find a non-hot corner of the basement and hope the fire burns out soon.

I'm aware.
I don't feel like I'm colorblind, but how would I know?

a giant directed lightning bolt
((Regardless of his explanation as to why lightning bolts aren't affected by fire immunity, they aren't.))

just did this http://www.xrite.com/online-color-test-challenge

scored an 18 on my left eye (0 being perfect), and a 56 on my right eye. Heh, I always knew something was a bit off with how my right eye perceives green and red

I got a crappy score on the last thing like this I took. I wonder if I should look into that.

Kyle blinks as there is no way he could have missed a giant window logically.
Point-blank range for aircraft is a lot more than it is on foot, even IRL. Who knows what kind of ranges these magitek planes have?

<Mhm.>
<The panic that was limited to a handful of people who thought it was Nazis invading, a bunch of people who were annoyed at the radio station for risking causing a panic, and one guy who posed for Life magazine?>

"Motherf^&#er!"
Nuriel simply attempts to rip the fighter apart.

Dak should just stand by, maybe rolling his eyes.

Rikrin should creep for cover slowly.
(stabby, what pistol is he guarding?)

1073
I'm fine with moving onwards.

Shhh... Look at my avatar's eyes. Would that face ever steer you in the wrong direction?
Yes.

I'll find you some nice music if you just cooperate. Just one tiny little +1.
Free nice music.

And rent it to a shopkeeper for the low rate of 2 stream rubies per hour.
+1... This... This actually isn't a bad plan at all.... It might not qualify as "good", but it's not bad either.
I'd count "bound to fail" as "bad" regardless of if it's going to blow up in our faces or just waste our time and stats.

-1 to idiotic plans for trying to swindle shopkeepers with crappy clot blankets.

As a pretty sciencey type, that's about as accurate as you're going to get without delving into quantum mechanics, which will fascinate a few of us and bore the rest.

Mafia / Re: Beginner's Mafia Sprint: College of Cardinals (D1)

You're missing something important, and that is that people who are dead still win with whatever side they were on.
Were you unaware that dead players still win with their team?
Is that all anyone cares about here in Mafia? Victory, however boring it is? Even if you don't participate in it?

However, I also have to take everything people say at more than face value.
A cigar is typically just a cigar, not proof that the CIa is trying to assassinate you.

To be frank, and I apologize if this comes across as harsh, but I can't see any reason why wanting to keep playing matters to anyone except for the player who is at risk.
Because when I see being someone wrong, I argue with them.

Anyway, this is all very fun and distracting, but I am still curious as to your reasoning for defending darkpaladin109. :P
Less defending him, more attacking the assumption that [X] suggests that he's an evul mafiya!

Ugh. D1 is almost over, and we're barely even out of RVS. Are we even fully out of RVS?
RVS?

Everyone: What do you think of D1 so far? Why haven't you been more active?
Both can be answered with "It's been dull".

Also, you should be asking questions, not just responding.
Alright, let me try one. I'll even go in-character.

"Perhaps we can garner some clue from how each of us answers a question of the faith? To begin with...which was created first, the chicken or the egg?"

I dunno...a few decades after I got stranded on a chunk of rock flung a couple miles into the atmosphere, I'd be feeling desperate.

Maybe it's a dark-gritty-struggle place starting to settle down into a Bright-New-World.

Not really, GWG. Black holes still act normally with regards to gravity, so even really massive ones aren't all that scary.
Their area of scariness is bigger.

Quote
But yeah, apart from the fact that the manipulator might defy physics to the contrary, a black hole from a ship's mass would be extremely hot and would likely completely evaporate fairly quickly.
I don't remember what all Hawking radiation is (particles and their anti-versions, I think), but that has the potential to be scary. Imagine being bombarded with a shower of particles that's roughly 50% antimatter...

1079
-snip- What do you mean? I did include your action in the update before your current, you forgot to make an action for this update.
What are you--! Huh.
I didn't forget an action, I just didn't see the turn.

Cower in the basement until the bombs stop going off?

1080
((Which is probably the most likely one IRIS would make.))
That's the nature of this game. You spend however much effort on background, and then other people look at the general outline and cram in anything they want.
*glares at Hell and other afterlives*

In more positive news, I've officially finished this school year and am back at home. Not particularly close to being unpacked yet, though.
Don't expect this to increase my posting time available. I intend to be busy this summer...
