<Well, I *am* more charming than the other ICARUS units.>
[color]<You're also more pleasant-smelling than a skunk, more agile than coral, and more intelligent than Kyle. What's your point?>

<I was wandering the U.S in the form of Hitler during World War II. Oh the mass panic that caused...>
<Let me guess, it was almost as big as the panic over the War of the Worlds broadcast.>

Man, after that long time I am delighted that no troll here (like Slowpoke) managed to kill anyone from party yet.
On behalf of all the sane(ish) folks in this thread, you're welcome.

We can't bloodshape a skill...but...if we're trying to bloodshape soemthing to attack enemies based on blood...
bloodshape a flamethrower that uses hp as fuel
...hear me out here.
BLOODSHAPE A MACHINE WHICH CREATES SKILLS
-1 to the former because it's going to most likely hurt us more than it's worth.
-1 to the latter because seriously, that's not going to work on a natural 20.

-1 to anything fun
Yep, if you define "fun" as "trolling the game" then yes, I am -1 to fun.
Preach it!

If it was malicious it would be trolling. This ain't trolling. Please don't go around namecallimg in the thread.
Actions know no morality, no context. LordSlowpoke might or might not be a troll, but non-trolls can troll.

EmeraldWind's theorycrafting sounds interesting and plausible. We don't have enough evidence for me to call it, though.

Mafia / Re: Beginner's Mafia Sprint: College of Cardinals (D1)

GreatWyrmGold: Since mafia is a team game, playing as if it is a free-for-all is a dangerous (possibly scummy) mindset.
You misunderstand me.
1. When you die, you can't play anymore.
2. People playing this game wanted to play this game.
3. Therefore, people playing this game do not want to die.
Thus, your claim that it doesn't matter if a non-mafia gets lynched is...well...idiotic.

I'd also like to point out that there are only two mafia players. Thus, getting one of them makes the game much harder for the other. On the other hand, a townie doesn't risk the entire game for their team if they are lynched.
There aren't that many more Townies, you know. And the "mafia" people are also going to be killing townies.

Or possibly blood-sword. Or blood-flail. Or maybe blood-chain-lamp-flail.

Mafia / Re: Beginner's Mafia Sprint: College of Cardinals (D1)

As soon as there was a hint that you were about to die, you panic. Why are you so scared to die?
"How dare you not want people to lynch you!"

More than that, being lynched isn't the end of the game unless you're mafia.
Um...it kinda is. For you, at least. And since there's more than one Mafia guy, the game's as over for them if they die as it is for a non-mafia person if they do.

The game was much less serious then.

Still...couldn't hurt to try.

I thought those fighters were detaching from the main group to go elsewhere, hence why they weren't included in the 125 fighter/10 bomber count.

I'm hoping the entire ship gets crushed into a black hole. And then nothing interesting happens, because really, black holes are not that scary. :P
Unless the ship has a planetary or ideally stellar mass, it's going to start emitting a lot of radiation if it turns into a black hole.
If it wasn't for Hawking radiation, it might help clear the surrounding area of garbage, or maybe it could be used as a gravitational lens...but other than that, yeah, not much. (Black holes are a lot scarier when they're bigger or closer to you.)

((You could also fight Grate. He's technically a bit stronger than a starting character, but he's focused on tech stuff. Just try not to kill him--he'll come back.))

I'' have the turn up soon after I finish sending Ghandi troops.
Civ V?

Yes. He could have just walked out of the door. :P
...
Brilliant. Shame that Will wasn't around.

((not to Stella and Nuriel, the bombers are not actually in reach yet))
Confirmation, Sanure?
And if so, why didn't you tell me earlier?

We need to get some seeds from this farming community. It will greatly help us in the long term. So before attempting anything, I would look for some seeds first.
+1
And to think I was about to yell at you or someone for resurrecting a dead thread.

Aren't wolves also megafauna? I thought basically everything bigger than a cat or so was megafauna.

Like Old!Oric?

Am I familiar with GURPS? In a word, yes.
In more words...well...I am very familiar indeed with GURPS. I know all the general rules and a fair number of the specifics.

like a dude who drives a taxi? Or an animate Taxi?
Something like that could probably be arranged, though I'd envisioned that one as being well past the date of the apocalypse, such that most everything from before was well and truly wrecked, and new societies had sprung up in their place.
He's a wreck of a taxi someone animated, which took on a life of its own after its creator's death?

Heres a basic storyline and a couple of details that should help you understand how the collapse came about. Go ahead and tell me what you think below, and feel free to ask questions.
In the future of our world, The Magic Came Back, or maybe just arrived for the first time, no ones quite sure about that. What they are sure about is that this was a catastrophe of unspeakable proportions. 99% of humanity died out in the first year from starvation, war, and predation.
The Event was an unbelievable release of magical energy that served to mutate many humans and other animals into monstrous forms, caused widespread disruption in weather patterns, and also rendered most machinery inoperable, due to magical interference. This led to widespread starvation and civil unrest.
Magical Interference: There is an ongoing rain of magical power from the sky. Unfortunately, this has the effect of causing random magical effects on anything that can't resist it. This very quickly makes anything vulnerable to it unrecognizable.
Etheric Identity: This is essentially a persons magical echo. It protects them from magical effects, and allows the person to manipulate magic. In mechanical terms, it provides a person with magic resist (10 free points worth, or 5 levels, which can be sold off as a disadvantage. This is a serious disadvatage!) or Improved Magic Resist, and for some lucky individuals, magery. Pretty much every living thing has one of these, as it's hard to survive without one, especially on the surface. Items that are old or handcrafted also get these, as do many inorganic land features.
Interesting.

Maybe you could combine your two ideas? Like, Earth's upper crust got shattered to bits by the Event and some of the bits got hit with mana that made them weightless?
