Can't we have another Palette round? I'd like to formalize the connection. I mean, come on, how many periodic cataclysmic events can one world have?

Determine what Sburb and Sgrub are. Start playing them both at the same time.

Also consider how to get more PCs in the hydra.

Attack Red's head/neck area while she's down! Try to cut an important artery.

((You want me to try it when only the Armory Master wants to fuck with what used to be you at the moment? I'll pass.
Also, if not for leveling I'd actually be stronger than Jim right now.))
((I mean afterwards, silly. When Grate gets control or replaced with the spare Grate corpse.
And you have 0 Strength. Grate could beat you in an arm-wrestling contest...half the time, at least.
How about Astra? Or Miyamoto or Jim, pre-transhumanization?))

Humans are the only mortal race living on the continent, and are the third mortal race to be created. The other two races were destroyed by cataclysmic events before being replaced.
A cycle of destruction ravages the continent every 1000 years, dust storms and insane heat waves drying it to a bone.
I sense a connection...

((That would be...Bullet, Burnsaber, and Carborn. Poor Carborn. Not a lot you can do for someone who didn't leave a big automotive mecha, I guess.))

((I dare you to try it. I'm interested to see just how quickly Jim would obliterate you.))

((Any suggestions? Ideally with IC justifications? I mean, I've been thinking of having the past Grates haunt the next one--or this one, if he survives--but I'm having trouble thinking of why first!Grate or super!Grate would tell the new one to commit suicude.))
((I think it would be more on the lines of new!Grate getting fed up with the voices of his alternate universe counterparts (because that is how quantum mechanics works apparently) and just stabbing himself to shut them up. Also did I mention STEPHEN HAWKING is going to start treating you like his kid now?))
((The list of Grate's adoptive parents grows by the day.))
((Who wants to take bets on how long until Xan adopts him?))

Hm...

There is only one (known) continent and only a few small islands. Large ships are almost completely unknown; sailors are typically sailing either cargo ships typically around 40-50 feet long, or smaller fishing boats.

Shoot Caerwyn whilst taking cover.

Those three things would actually fall under the "USA" focus if we were playing Microscope. Focus can be very broad.
Alright, how about--to pick three events from 1994, which I conveniently have the Wikipedia page for open--the Kremlin Accords, the Assault Weapons Ban, and Hurricane Gordon?

The problem is that we can end with things that don't actually connect. I thought the same as you, but after a few games I realized the focus had a reason to be there.
Alright. I'll defer to your experience at the present.

One thing I've never understood about this system is why everyone has to focus on the same bit at any given time. Why not have people expand whatever sections they want to whenever?

Regardless, IN.
Because then we end  up having lots of turn where no one's creations interact. I'vr managed to get a copy of this, played a bit with friends and on Spanish forums and it usually ends with hundreds of little stories without any connection if you go without the focus.
Is that such a bad thing? Is there a thematic connection between WWII, the assassination of JFK, and Watergate? If they all connect into a timeline, and if people writing bits take earlier and later events into account, why is this a problem?

((Not that important, really, but it's always nice to consider why we're doing X.))
