The rabbit's voice is clearly audible, actually. It's kinda squeaky. Maybe that's just a matter of it being in a rabbit.

In that case... The reason WHY the whispering is occurring seems to be just.. it's trying to say something. There must be some sort of consciousness to it, one not of a rabbit, for sure.
When that Shadow!Rabbit ends up bopping it, the whispering seems to spread out a bit, split between both Will and Marie. Marie's more being more annoyed sounding, and Will's being still Inquisitive.
...
After a bit... the whispering ceases. And then.. returns, turned inward, oddly enough. Like all the different voices were conversing with each other, and not alongside each other. After a moment, they then turn outward, all around.
