Einsteinian Roulette / Re: Einsteinian Roulette Mission 11: Everyone else.
« on: November 27, 2013, 09:53:58 pm »
((I'm not present at briefing when Steve mentions the name, but I have a few suggestions.

Heroic Marines Rebuilding from Corruption has a nice ring, although it might be a bit pretentious.
Humanity's Malady-Removing Coalition isn't bad either.
The United Men of the Worlds is a nice play on the UWM, and emphasizes a "for-the-people" attitude. I think I like that one the most.))

Spoiler: Random Crap (click to show/hide)

Grate awakes.
"...Ugh...I don't feel...I feel fine. Wasn't I crushed by stuff?"
Grate looks around.
"Where is everyone? Are they at one of those briefing things? Maybe debriefing? I'll go look."
He shakes his head as he gets up, vague images of higher dimensions in his mind.
"Maybe I'm not so fine."

He heads to the (de)briefing.
"Miss Feyri? Mister Jim? Lyra? Everyone else? What did I miss?"

12767
[...Reading back..]
((Did you miss the Quantum Grate bit?))
[My mind is still stuck on where we got those fuzzy whatsits. Yes I missed everything.]
How dare you shout MAGIC in the terminology of Quantum Mechanics, you..you misunderstanding people! That is not how quantum mechanics/physics works!
((We're not discussing real quantum mechanics. We're describing awesome quantum mechanics!
And I dunno, quantum tunneling seems pretty magical to me.))

((True, quantum mechanics doesn't work like magic. It doesn't work at all :P
Its pretty much the physics equivalent of a liberal arts degree, or at least that's what I have heard.))
((Modern computers rely on quantum properties to work properly. Quantum physics work, they just don't make any sense. There is a difference.))

(But we got a spare, now, and both are almost as good as the original! :D

On a more serious note, how does everyone think this is going to work? Personally I predict GWG controls both Grates at once like some sort of hivemind thing.)
((And what about when one of them dies again?
...I may have solved the test subject problem.))

If you be on the ship, get your butt to the on-ship thread. And get ready to be debriefed, whether you want it or not.
((Which one is that, again?))

(Xan and Mesk will end up eating each other's flesh at the same time to regain the mass the other's eaten and end up as some sort of twisted cannibalistic ouroboros.)
((Oh God that's terrifying.))

((I love how much fun piecewise obviously has with this kind of thing :P))
((This comment has two possible states.
1. "You mean only piecewise has fun with it?"
2. "You mean the rest of us don't have fun with it?"
Please pretend that the comment switches between those two randomly when you look at it. I suppose I could cludge something with signavatar or something, but meh.))

Bid one gold on the scimitar like I tried to last turn.
Return to the battle. If I can
, I don't understand how this is supposed to work.

Platypus.

Echidna, both the Australian mammal (optionally) and its namesake (awesomely)

Ceberus

Hydras of some kind, whether Learnean or the somewhat adorable real ones

That was annoying. I didn't get a chance to react. At all.

Request a double-turn or a mutation or something in recompensation.
Set mastahcheese on fire with my light control.
Spoiler: Science! (click to show/hide)

wait if outback magic includes summoning Australian animals how is anyone else supposed to win(really they have kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, all kinds of venomous animals, and even the dreaded sugar glider!) ?
Also the nine snakes and nine spiders with the deadliest venom. And Darwin's Bark Spiders. And (arguably) various types of sharks, box jellyfishes, blue-ringed octopi, deadly conchs, stonefish, etc.

-snip-
Elephants live in Australia?
On a serious note, all Australian animals get a deadly rep from the few that are aggressive, absurdly venomous, or both. Deal with it. At least when we're joking about deadly wildlife, we're not making fun of your continent's nickname.

Now, I wonder what the purpose could be of making worshippers to get more mana could be as I described... oh wait! Maybe it's to get more mana so we can make different planets in the end! My god!

As opposed to your idea of, of making us do things un-noticeably, making earth 2.0 and then presumably hitting empty mana from no worship, and then making new planets still somehow.

Hmm. Which there has a hole in it's logic?
There, we have an argument at the line between "Strawman" and "Didn't explain things well enough". Okay, it's on the latter side of the line.
I never said we should completely hide, just that we should make our presence...subtle.
Besides, even if we did completely hide, we would stil get worshipers. To avoid offending anyone, just consider: No religion commands so much as a third of the world's population, unless you lump Christianity, Judaism, and Islam together for some reason. (Source: Wikipedia, which reports that there are a lot fewer Jews than I had imagined.) Clearly, there are a lot of people worshiping something that doesn't exist.

Quote
Seas of molten rock. Creatures and plants are made of living metal / metallic based compounds. Plants generate mana to live and this is consumed by both us and other creatures, which use it to preserve and reproduce themselves. This allows us to make awesome and unique creatures as opposed to earth 2.0. The mana we consume will build up until we can create other planets, whereupon we can do something completely different.

What would you prefer, then? Explain your plans and why rather than just calling other stuff some disparaging remark.
Alright. And how does that work, exactly? How does the metal move? (Just in general.)
My plans, at the moment, are bacteria based largely on some common element with four valence electrons.

URRRRRRRRRG! Can we stop arguing and actually make something! Maybe crystal forests that produce mana, that would require about a billion years of waiting though.
How can we make stuff if we can't agree on what to make?

12773
Besides, just consider it an Aquatic Stronghold. Possibly one that moves. And, limit on space.
...
Why have a ship once we can afford a sailing castle?

12774
"Aw, come on! It's amazing! How can you not enjoy watching two massive armoured robots smack each other around with their fists!?"
"どのようにできますか?"

"...your friends consist of a demigod, a.. whatever the Darnos kid is, a four-year-old--"
"She's five, actually."
Alex heads back to the room she snuck out of.

The meeting continues between Angel and her parents, who seem to be doing their best to ignore the madness outside that room.

GwG also has 4 PC he spents 8 Wealth and 8 PC on 2 Units of Infrastructure (Eco 4W/4PC) thats also not working out
Mm, forgot the PC.

[quote
If you post an Action please exactly connotate how much you want to build use, in case of GWG dont just write Spend Influence. Write Spend 5 Influence or something.
[/quote]
I have no idea how much Influence it takes to do stuff.

Anyways. Editing action with fixes. Diplomatic efforts will be added in a new post so people see it, if I get around to such activities.

12778
Weren't you one of those with a character from Naga's attack or am I remembering wrong?

12779
Ah, but the figuring out is the tricky part. (And for all we know the eventual process will be difficult as well.)

Try making a delayed Fire+Oxygen Rune on a rock to make a Fire Bomb.
-1
Plan how we would do so, instead. Seriously, why is making a fire bomb in the car in any way a good idea?
