Because you need an actual action in RtD's, and the +1 is not only short but easily modifiable.

It was, using donjon's generator. Now that it has been pointed out, though, there is nothing stopping freeform from making it retroactively a reference.

One character. That makes things simpler, and easier for people to enter or join on a whim. Please update the status spoiler if anything changes.

Any style you like.
