"Why are we concerned? Several reasons.

"Firstly, consider how the Bones are recruiting. Since Skull took over, they have been doing so aggressively, threatening and in at least one case killing parahumans who did not go along with the Bones. If the parahumans were not enough, and they could easily have more than any other group in the city at this rate, they also have a number of civilian followers, and are recruiting more by the week. They have numbers.

"Moreover, their numbers have been getting more effective. I believe I have mentioned that the Tinker creations of Spine have been becoming more numerous, varied, and powerful? They are. Moveover, Skull has been exhibiting more fine control, Humerus has been controlling more duplicates, and so forth. Something is letting them overcome their limitations, we don't know what. If nothing else frightens you, if no other fact about them sticks, remember this. Assume any parahuman working with the Bones could do twice as much as otherwise, if not more.

"Finally, they are aggressive. A source indicates that they intend to seize control of a significant portion of the city. Normally, this sort of ambition could be ignored as never being possible, but not so here. The Bones are the greatest threat facing Toronto today--"

An alarm goes off, audible in all parts of the PRT building. Those who have been here a while know what it means: There is a Terror attack.
"Five bucks says it's attacking Toronto."
"No bet."

"Tabitha! Come with me! Does anyone know where Delphinium and her friend might have gone?"

((True, true. Although people would probably be eagerly awaiting the fight he lost, just like people liked the arc where Superman died.
He got better.))

((...I thought we got through that...))
((It was until the next morning.))

Even if we do, we could "splatter" and reconsolidate our form.

Since we're almost done with everything, I thought I would get started on our pirate code. That's a Google Doc containing examples shamelessly ripped from Wikipedia, with the name inspired by The Jamaican Discipline. Highlight the stuff that looks good, and we can merge them all together.
I've looked through the first three and left golden comments.

((Lizardpeople speak Latin?))
((Yep. Her name means table in latin(Tabula->Tabella). In fact, all Layers(from the magic girls game I ran) names are latin and could speak it(it never came up, but it in the notes).))
1. Layar.
2. Oh, neat.

Alternately, I got bored and ran some numbers.  8000 lbf is around 36 kN.  Iron has an average Vickers hardness of 608 MPa, putting out an average deformation under that particular test force of 0.01 mm.  Running shear stress models using the shear stress modulus of 82 GPa (by contrast, wood has a typical stress modulus measured in kPa) and assuming an applied area of around 0.0077 m2 (lowballing with a 1" diameter and a 1' length, since dimensions aren't given) doesn't give much better, with around 0.2mm of deformation for a 1" test length.  So, even some thin iron cladding on the prow alone should also fix the issue just as well, if my maths aren't incorrect.
It's probably a little weird that my first reaction to the issue was to reach for my slide rule...at least I didn't go for my old notes on impact forces and elastic deformations therein.
Alright, so the immovable rod wouldn't be destroyed. Not that magic items can be destroyed by mundane means.
The question has more to do with wood. Would the ship stop, or would the hull break? It depends on speed and hull, and we have no answer.
Err, my response had nothing to do with the immovable rod - are they even made out of iron?  My thoughts had to do with the use of iron cladding on the ship's hull to stop the immovable rod from punching through the hull.
Oh. I see.
I'm not sure if the immovable rod would punch through a wooden hull. It depends on how much force the hull can withstand...

Selina is back at the HQ with Nuriel, having greatly enjoyed their time together. Selina was also a little red from sunburn, her face looking as if it were blushing though she really wasn't.
Nuriel does not notice anything odd about this. She wishes that they had done more, though.
Angel is still unconscious, because GWG is the only one who payed attention to the stated duration of the memetic.
"Are you okay, Selina?"

Check to see if I'm actually naked or if the GM just didn't think to include that.

Look around.

Why don't you ever update it, then?

And I say Primal. Out of the options we were given, that sounds most...bear-ish.

((I didn't expect to take that any farther, but...))
"What are you in here for?"
"A few things."

"Hello. Who are you?"

I'm expecting family to stop by any minute, so I don't have time to type up the turn thingy, but I have time for a little. I didn't even have time to finish this.

Well, yeah. Assault renamed himself and started, you know, being heroish and Gully probably has 'Hulk' like appeal.
1. Assault acted more heroically, but he still came off as more than a bit selfish. We don't see enough of him to see how well-concealed this was to the general public or to the PRT.
2. Gully was pretty well pushed to the side. Which brings me to my next point...
3. Are you seriously claiming that each and every Ward and Protectorate member was cashed in on as a major source of income? Heck, Marvel and DC have tons of characters that almost no one except major geeks have heard of, and those characters have no purpose other than selling comics and stuff! This comparison to RL comic book characters brings me to another point...
4. Who are some of the best-known Marvel characters at the moment? Deadpool (an amoral, insane mercenary), Wolverine before that (among the darkest of X-Men), the Hood is gaining in popularity and he's a full-on supervillain. Who is the second-most-known superhero on the planet? Batman, and I suspect that if Superman wasn't the earliest well-known superhero Batman would be #1. Batman is also pretty much the darkest major hero in the DCU. People like antiheroes, especially tragic ones. Once Selina gets a little fame, I'm betting she'll get fans. A shy mysterious girl who can't control her inner rage...actually, she sounds a bit like Wolverine from that angle.

I need to catch up, but my paper has been done for a while so the turn should be up tonight. Screw that, the turn will be up tonight, I promise.

Two critical hats? This'll be fun.
+1

Just in case rag missed it and hasn't been offline since it happened...
Angel and Alan are still waiting outside the Headmistress's office.

Ask the lizardwoman if she knows about the computer crash, and if she can fix it.
Tabella turns around the monitor to face the human and says "Ego meum optimum experiri." She coughs "Sorry, slipped back into my normal tongue. I said 'I'm trying my best'."
