My optimization problems with Drak had nothing to do with the fact that he was a kobold. They had to do with the fact that an octopus with an understanding of D&D rules could optimize better than me.
And it wasn't the optimization that was his problem though :P
Then why did you bring it up in the middle of a conversation about optimization?

Well, first I need to choose my initial class at all, and it's almost certainly not going to be spell-thief. What do you guys think we need?
*shrugs*

More than take Profession (Harlot), and less than take Knowledge (nature), presumably.

((Wait, where IS The Headmistress exactly? Lyle, Selina, Catherine and Victoria are in Lyle's room, Issac is looking for Medea with Angel accompanying him, Darnos is with Regent and I have no idea where the hell Jason is.))
((Angel is only with Isaac because all I knew about where they were is that neither were frolicking with Lyle.))

((SHE IS EVERYWHERE
AND EVERYTHING))
((Yeah she is in all the places with PCs in them. Somehow.
((Wouldn't it be easier to summon us all to her office? You know, so she wouldn't have to do two or three conversations at once?))

Use Zeno's Turtle and Achilles racetrack example to show that it is impossible for anyone to pass me and take first place.
That only works if you ignore the fact that you would need to only measure decreasing amounts of time, to the point where you would never advance past a point in time n where the passer reaches the point you were at at the same time you were there and times after that where he reaches those points before you.
Logic!

Besides, we could disprove you by walking past you and winning the race.

"... What the hell is it with this group? I swear, I have more trouble with you than the rest of the school combined."

Suddenly, the Headmistress is just there, standing in the midst of them, eyes half-closed in anger... or perhaps just annoyance.
Angel hides behind...Selina isn't there...Isaac.

They are as terrible as one would expect.

Also, I was actually thinking of the Archivist, not Factotum. But I will do neither! We need...like...a skill-monkey, a tank(I rarely consider barbarians tanks), and we have 2 to 3 out of 5 spell casting roles covered, I just don't know what they are. Healer, controller, buffer, blaster, utility. Warmage would be fun to play. I always liked the idea. I can get nice precious Heavy Armor soon in it, too. I do wish Mage Armor stacked with it however.
We've got a Magic Missile wizard. I'm not sure exactly what I want to be...I could be a tankish guy, but I said I'd be a healer...

Jeezus

And while those are exaggerations (albeit real screen shots)...TA and RotMG do have major ninja problems.

Idea: Can we present to you our variant ideas for adjusted races and whatnot? I think it'd be fun to play an orc or half-orc, but the uneven ability bonus/penalties...bleh. Barely any racial abilities, either.
If you're going for rulesy stuff in Core, 80-90% of the time you will want to play a human (best bonuses) or a dwarf or elf (most bonuses), although halflings (also a lot of bonuses, plus Small) aren't uncommon.

Also, it should be noted that in this world, every time you use improper grammar a demon is summoned to the Material Plane somewhere.
How powerful of a demon?
Is it possible to predict where from the grammar abused and other factors?
Are you regretting saying that yet?
It depends on the seriousness of the grammar offense and the Intelligence score of the player. The more forbidden knowledge you are privy to, the more the Abyss expects you to know better.
Yes, but that would require one to invent and establish several measuring devices and make a Knowledge (Arcana) check.
No, and in addition you have forced me to make this canon.
...Time to become an expert in demonlore. Oh wait, I said I'd be a healer, so no glaivelock/arcanist guy.

...Hm...

Is your sheet public?

You shall be known as The Nameless One.
Dang it! Knew I forgot something.

Cromwell Jackson, like last time.
How about The Nameless Jackson?
Or The Cromwell One?

Ok I was too general on the weapon thing. It was meant to be for anything that is a weapon i.e. handguns, longguns, energy weapons, archery, blades that are meant for war, quantum wave state collapse device(ok just kidding) etc.
1. Longarms.
2. So, things that are totally weapons?

((Changed my action as setting a room with no exits on fire would be really really dumb.))
((So?))

Grate looked around. The landscape wasn't exactly a scenic vista, what with the craters and sand and rocks and wreckage and massive ship-cages and what seemed to be an abandoned ice cream truck somewhere off in the distance being about all within view. Still...if you looked in the one direction that didn't have any of the huge artificial blemishes in sight...

"Yup."

Huh. That ended remarkably non-lethally for a 1.

Teleport to the finish line!

<Um...yes...>

Nuriel stares at Selina, not saying a word, worried she'll ruin things.
