I'm not one of those aficionados, but the most overpowered stuff I've seen or theorized has been from Dragon Magazine.
Wizard 20 with Shapechange.
Cleric 20 with Miracle.
Druid 20 without any spells at all.
Now add Dragon Magazine feats, like Easy Metamagic, which is strictly better than Practical Metamagic, a feat for a, in general, weaker class that has more requirements.
A tank with a few infantrymen on top is more dangerous than one without.
Which is more dangerous, the tank or a few infantrymen?

Also, it should be noted that in this world, every time you use improper grammar a demon is summoned to the Material Plane somewhere.
How powerful of a demon?
Is it possible to predict where from the grammar abused and other factors?
Are you regretting saying that yet?

vikingar
"Vikingar" is the (Scandinavian/)Swedish plural. "Vikings" is the English way.
Why do you think I italicized it?
I had a point about using the culture's name for the culture's raiders, but it's a bit fuzzy now.

Off to work. Everybody who wants to go in on a ship, and be part of the crew as their background PM me. We can work out cost division and backgrounds when I get back.
I'll keep that in mind...how many folks were considering that?

If there's still room after six pages of OOC I will be surprised.
There's what, half a dozen folks here? Few of whom submitted actual character sheets?

"O-oh.
Ninjas are cool.."
((Japanese plurals are the same as the singular! It's ninja are cool!
Grammar Imperial*, away!))

((*I wouldn't be a Grammar Nazi, since I'm correcting Japanese and that's about as far as you can get from German without including lots of tongue clicks or something.))

[20] Nuriel paused, then followed.

<I'm fine.>

Vikings are not standard pirates in any way. They raided settlements on land, either on the coast or near rivers. No pirate ship went up a river to raid there; they tended to focus on attacking other ships. Not to get into the details of the non-raiding parts of their economy and culture and such...
There was literally no non-raiding viking culture or economy.
Edit: Wait, no, that's time period dependant, my bad.
There were vikingar and there were Norsemen. There were pirates and then there were Europeans (or Americans, or whatever). The Norse economy in the early centuries of the past millennium was much different than the European economy in the 16th through 18th centuries or so.

We could use a straight casting character. I'll just be using Druid for Wildshape and Animal Companion mostly. Also, somebody should take caprentry as a profession to keep the ship in repair.
Do we got a healer?
Noted!
Also, it's "Do we have a healer?"

We spent an hour wandering...wait a sec.
You spend a good part of an hour looking around the prison area
Why did we do that, anyways? Is the prison half a mile across and we decided to slowly circumnavigate it?

15501
<What?>

15502
"Um, sure. Do you w...um, yeah, do that."

Angel does not respond.

Vikings are just standard pirates anyway. AND I WILL RACIST YOU IF YOU SAY OTHERWISE :P

And I'm sure vikings would go after ships on the sea if they had something bigger and better than longboats. I know traditional pirates were more than happy to go after land targets as well.
Longboats were pretty big, actually. Pirates didn't go upriver to raid, however.

Does this mean you're planning to go on a high seas adventure here? If so, that can certainly be arranged.
No, we're all taking stuff from Stormwrack and we want to go into a desert.

So...I'm trying to think of what would be a useful addition to the party.

Edit: Also, Weirdsound, I think there may be some friction between our characters. Don't smite me bro!
Yeah, I saw that whole NE thing. I also noted that 4/6 of my barefisted punches can kill you in a single hit.
That might cut down the arguments.
(Also, you need to deal hp+10 lethal damage to kill.)
(I only need hp+1 to kill, since you're effectively dead without help at that point. Also, I refer you to my Improved Unarmed Strike.)
((And yet, he's not dead in a single hit.
And nevermind to the other point.))

You never know with those Lawful stupid types.
FTFY.

15505
If I ever bothered, I could be fairly successful at that sort of thing.
((Would they be willing partners?))

"I dunno."
<Um...I'm okay, Selina.>

15506
I understand now... we must resort to cannibalism and cult activity to survive.
What?

You don't expect to see one, as worship of Armok was outlawed by the damn elves.
1. The elves are in control?
2. Armok is the only god who might be running a soup kitchen?

It's time to close another door and live another day.
Exit the alley.

Hum.  Maybe?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
And then every enemy in the campaign bought items generating Silence fields, because holy fuck.
Once natural selection kicks in, sure.

The Dark Dungeon rules. When your character dies, you die too!
And you don't ever get any kind of roll to avoid it. And you always die instead of taking ability damage or drain or something. And this was one of the less idiotic comics!
God, Jack Chick is stupid.

Personally, I think I'll be going for a (Bard or Rogue)6/Dread Pirate4/Legendary Captain 10.
It will be delicious.
Alright, Robert.

Edit: DON'T DITCH SURVIVAL. It's very useful for sailors. Predicting the weather and such.
Bah, who needs to know the weather?

Anyways...we have a druid, some sort of tank, a pirate-rogue, and a wizard somewhere, correct?

We are a thief. That's all we know! It's all we learned!
1. Have we fallen so far and is the hour so late, that nothing remains but the cry of our hate? The cries in the darkness that nobody hears, here as we stand in the turning of the years?
2. Do we want to limit ourselves to criminal activities?
3. Three words: "Steampunk Jean Valjean".

We must transcend thievery to our greater spiritual calling.
+1

We aren't going to be a spiritually inclined hippie!
Agreed. However, spiritual inclination does NOT equal hippiness.

Let's face the facts people! We can are and pretend to be poor. I doubt anyone will actually give us anything. Have you seen the people here?
True. At the end of the day, you're another day older, and that's all you can say for the life of the poor. It's a struggle, it's a war, and there's nothing that anyone's giving...except, perhaps, men of God.

Selina looks at her stomach.

"I-is it th-that noticable...?" Selina looks a bit embarrassed.
((Selina's what, two months pregnant?))
((About 3 actually))
((According to detailed analysis, Selina would have a small bump. Not sure if it would show through clothing, though.

[To: Angel] <Did Jason kill~ or attempt to kill~ the three or any of the three or threaten~ you or otherwise attempt to coerce~ you?>
No response.

[Everyone]<Someone come prance with me! :3>
<No.>
Angel decides that she probably doesn't want to be around Lyle alone.
