((a/(x^b) or something, then?

I don't think that's the case, either. He would be sent across the universe from moving a fraction of an inch and end up right next to the starting position after half an hour's walk.))

Roll To Dodge / Re: Prophets of the New God: Turn 85 - And We're Back

"Hm...theft wouldn't be terrible, but I'd prefer not to be perceived as a cult of criminals. Um...yeah, theft unless you can think of someone easily-converted...can you think of something or someone to steal or steal from that most people would either not care about or approve of?"

Begin planning heist.

Oh, and another thing that I wish to address - Phiali's advantages. I have come to realize over a long time that "+1 to rolls to avoid death" and "+1 to rolls involving faith" are incredibly vague, and haven't done anything about it mostly because Phiali doesn't get to put either of these bonuses to much use. If you don't mind, GWG, I'd like you to change those to something more precise. For avoiding death, specify dodging, toughness or something else, and for faith... not so sure. You could theoretically argue that pretty much everything you do as a prophet involves faith, so that description does not tell me much at all.
((For the avoid-death thing, I was imagining more of the "toughness" thing. For the faith...I have no idea, actually. Let me check that character sheet...))

((EDIT: Yeah, no idea what that would be. Not getting converted? Resisting magic of enemy gods? I honestly don't know what I had in mind.))

...or even rational (it'd be interesting to see what a rational function's vertical asymptote does to distance when commuting via Voidspace).))
((Do you mean irrational?))

((It isn't exponential, or linear. My first thought was quadratic, but I'm not sure. Fuck it's been too long since I've done any serious math.))
((it'd be great if it was sinusoidal, just to mess with him. ))
((...I can't imagine how that would work.))

Cast doubt on Oric's claims and ask for Spira to answer the question.

"NO!!!" Meme runs past all of them, trying to get away.
The Angels follow, then follow Miranda when she picks up Meme.

((Yes))

"AH!"
Meme starts screaming, tears running down her cheeks. She was terrified and her illusion of bravery had been broken
TAngel sits on AMGel's shoulders. They totter over right next to Miranda, and TAngel tries to give Meme a hug. This leads to both falling over and falling behind.

"M-m-m-m-marie.... sc-sc-sc-scare me... Sh-sh-sh-she say... I n-n-n-n-n-not bwave...!" Meme starts sobbing under the bed.
The Angels crawl under the bed as well, and give Meme the best hugs they can.

She may just be riffing off of what Cherish said. Employee rhymes with nominee.
Oh.
Doesn't rhyme with "training" though.

Arg. This talk of angels has me trying to figure out this puzzle again. Maybe there's new clues, maybe not.
Someone got past, I think, but then refused to share how they did it.
So frustrated, but the music's interesting.
I don't think he actually did.

So, can we be sure that the angel in that is the "new recruit?"
No.

16777

Waaait a second! That didn't rhyme! This Spira's an impostor!
ASK SPIRA ABOUT WHY HER STATEMENT DID NOT FOLLOW THE IDIOSYNCRATIC TICS OF ANGELIC SPEECH
+1

Also ask Spira what would happen if someone other than the angel-in-training got the key.

"Another dragon? Fun. Well then. Just how big? Elephant-eater or whale-eater? Wingspan? Length?"
SA!Stella pipes up
Can you discribe the dragon, it's appearance?
Livepool vaguely describes a dragon that sounds kind of like Stella's mother.

((Insert other guys description, allong the lines of it looks like you [stella] but way bigger))

I think that's my Mum actually, she was pissed of when I told her that a team-mate knocked me unconcious with explosives
"Ah, I see...well, I'd like to strongly request that you come with us, then. And in the meantime, I need to contact the New York heroes."

-snip-
Livepool glances at Marie, then turns towards the others.
"This is safe, right?"
"Yup."

"Nightmare Unit 003 operational. "
"You sure?"
"If you mean for her, 100%."
"And for us?"
"...Call it 90%."

"Are we ready to go do something?"

16779
Shrug.

"Planning to do that already. Needless to say, the dragon--as well as us not having any clue what or when your plans were--impeded us. However, we've had at least one hero exclusively monitoring the place pretty much since the horde."

"Technically, I was just asking. But let me ask you something: What do you expect? Cash rewards, random equipment, ex-pee?"

Slade isn't that dense, and there isn't that thick of a layer of it.

According to the DF Wiki, slade is about 200 grams per cubic centimeter. Assuming a layer about a millimeter thick across the 1.5-2 square meters (15,000-20,000 square centimeters) of skin humans have, the slade would be only 3-4 tons. This is, incidentally, much less than even a typical elephant. Typical human volume is estimated at 70-90 liters; thus, your new density would be something like 40-50 grams per cubic centimeter, close to twice the density of osmium or platinum but still nowhere near laws-of-physics-screwing.

"For starters, you won't get eaten by a dragon. In the past, when superhero or -villain teams lost to dragons, they tended to attack any parahumans they come across which they thought could be connected to the organization.

"Anyways, what was in it for you when you helped take down those villains?"

It takes less then a fraction of a second to hit the earth below
Gravity does not work that way!

"I'll let you know when I find out. Anyways, any chance you could take me to the capital or something?"

"We're not sure. This isn't a well-documented dragon; strength, both physical, mental, and magical, vary greatly between dragons. This one is definitely a big one, though, which means it probably isn't lacking in any of the three."
