((Proud to be Canadian.... Personally, the sarcasm/ironic exaggeration was clear to me, but I didn't understand what it was about... something about the legal system being ****?))

There are two things that maybe you should know:
1) My country is so irrational that we sold the state company that exploited oill to foreigners, then we expropiated it back last year saying that there was not enough inversions and that we should defend energetic sovereignty, then made a contract with a foreing company to exploit our oil for us, including secret clauses, so that the people couldn't know the share that we are giving them. All this was supported by the same people (Out current president was a senator when we sold it)
2) I had already seen news about some veterans breaking into a national park and that stuff. The main thing that I just couldn't believe was how people weren't even allowed to be on the street.

So, as I live in a whole different world, where politicians just bypass laws at will and there is no medium-term plan, I felt that maybe the other extreme could be so structured to reach a simmilar situation

Yeah, the whole place is shut down. You can't even go outside because there's government property out there. Think of the trillions we're spending keeping those Highway Enforcement Officers out, blocking people from walking to work and such. Just recently I heard a dude was arrested for watering his plants. It's crazy.
