Basically, you have each block as a 'cell', empty blocks adjacent to a cell may have a duplicate block placed in them in there are a certain number of those blocks touching them. If a cell doesn't have a specific amount of other cells touching it, it gets deleted. I think the game is similar except it accounts for gravity and has permanently 'live' source blocks..."
"It doesn't have much physics in terms of objects, they are confined to a grid and most of them can only be placed or removed. Stuff with gravity isn't too difficult and I think fluid physics are simulated with something similar to a cellular automaton. I'm not too sure though since I've only heard of it..."Nuriel nods.
