He has demonstrated emotions in the past. Anger, mostly, but that's an emotion.

Udil was unaffected by the death of his family and nation coupled with an extra personality being shoved into his head AND a constant burning pain. That was probably just bad writing, but I still don't think that plan would work.

See, each god there had a motivation. Az-Sho wanted to protect his kids and know the world. Udil wanted all the power. Sapt Golgo wanted the world to not get eaten. Un'girlan wanted to eat everything. Darnos' motivation is to exploit others' motivations for fun and profit.
