So I've just started doing major missions with the latest version, and I've noticed that the mission timer and orbit planner consider five or six hours to be one day.  This is a bug, right?

Spoiler: Meanwhile, on Minmus. (click to show/hide)
Nope. Time is now done in Kerbal days. Yay for folks like me who like RP, boo for folks like you who prefer universal Earth time.
And why is Δv for Mun landing lower than Minmus? It should be the opposite.

Maybe we should have a second round where we vote for the top5 voted factions? That way we all get a bit more satisfied with the outcome.
I second this option, so if you want to do it OP, you need to make the voting not close on the 17th!
Or, you know, if you ever want a poll again.

I don't remember where I met him or remember his name, but he walked funny like he was too big for his frame. Just over five foot, but he weighed a buck fifty, and what he said just seemed so right it stuck with me: Listen, its like poker, you can play your best, but you've got to know when to fold your cards and take a rest, and know when to hold your cards and hold your breath, and hope no one else is staring at the deck. Because, I don't need to tell you that life isn't fair, it doesn't care, it arbitrarily cuts off your air, and like you, I want someone to say it's okay. But the truest parts of our hearts, everybody's afraid, but just unappreciated and overwhelmed fighting so hard to hide our fear that we're scaring ourselves. You understand when I'm saying you always did, but its different in the words of a cowardly kid.
...I'm sure that you mean something like that, but what you said is in this context halfway between an Eastern koan and a Country/Western song.

Has anyone given the thought that perhaps Lars (critically) failed, or even overshot, an intuition roll? I would not put it above Piecewise to give false positives for such (Yay paranoia!).
Not that you shouldn't be planning for the possibility he's right, of course.
Hadn't thought of that. Yay, points I hadn't thought of earlier!

Cult of Planet seems like it would be a thematically interesting faction!

Also, wow we can't agree on anything. And I'm surprised that the Gaia's Stepdaughters got so many votes. And by "so many" I mean "two, twice what anyone else has".

I'm not a coder.

And do you mean fly the main rescue-ship closer? That can be done (though I might wait for daylight...)

It sounds reasonable. Not sure how they made chainmail, but it sounds pretty close to my trivial knowledge.
(It's part of the reason why stabbing-type swords eventually predominated over slashing-type swords.)

Yes, but they'll only do it once we reach a certain power level.

So we get as many people as possible to just below that power level, and then we attack.
1. We don't know what that power level is.
I can say that you will fight the bosses in roughly the same power level as them, though.
Which helps that problem...how?

2. I never said we would attack them now, did I?
1. We'll know it once they attack someone. Well, we'll know roughly what it is.
2. No, but you also didn't specify that we would attack them later, and from the phrasing it sounded like you were planning to attack in the near future.
1. And at that point we'd lose our strongest guy...unless we buff everyone up enough that, on the whole, we'll be able to deal with them.
2. My bad.

I'm trying to get rid of it. No one else is though.
Maybe because it isn't the most pressing issue?

"What you wants do Angel?" Meme and Mimi sit next to her expectantly.
"Um...I dunno...what do you want to do?"

I support actions that I think will have results either useful or entertaining.
What if an action is entertaining to you but annoys others? Or if a counterproductive action will be "entertaining"?

Still reading through, but a thought on Theorycrafting #5 from what I've seen up till post 1150:
-snip-
a. Doesn't look much like the DL. Either too small and featureless, or too far and too big (and possibly too featureless).
b. Too big. Probably. It could be close.
c. ...?
d. Possible, but of what? And what proof? (We need that.)
d1. Maybe.
e. More specific?
f. Maybe. Still vague and unsupported.

@GWG, For info on Xiuhcoatl (Uhco for short) Please check out the bottom of page 73, my post, in the OOC.
...Oh, that thing. Is it coming in soon or something?

Because it's 1 am in the morning and the designers ain't getting paid by the hour, their reasoning was somewhere along the lines of "Eh, fuck it we've finally finished the damn thing, no need for meaningful names... Let's see, it screws people over and takes their soul, meh, 'Succubus' will do.".
...

Quote
Not all the constructs have appropriate names, it varies with the designer. There also happen to be Sigurd-class constructs where stabbing them in the back is the last thing anyone would want to do.
There's a difference between "doesn't include a weakness betrayed by the name" and "has a name that will make sure your construct is roundly mocked by anyone not currently in combat with it".

They were both things that happened in ER, the former case involved a small star being formed next to a dam and going nova on the party.
China-9, Ice-Nine, and Grate-32. The (current) trifecta of manip overloads.

..how many sixes did he get on that roll?
Only one roll (probably). The question is perhaps, how many bonuses did he have?

"I will... have you ever thought of letting someone... stick something in a wound?"
((Ew. Ew. Ew ew ew ew ew ew ewe ewe ewe ewewewewewewew! I did not need that mental image, damn it.))
It's only bugging you now?

"I read too fast. I just scan the page and upload the data, I can finish most in under a minute. It's not particularly fun."

<The point of reading a good novel isn't just to devour the text. You need to digest the contents, savor the writing, chew the...um...metaphors.>

"It's... It's a move called... called Mulan, it's... it's one of... of my favourites"
<Eh. Not fair to Chinese society or feminists, songs didn't really add much. Not one of Walt's better films.>

"So yeah, that's why I am never allowed to get a medical license in Budapest."
Kyle says with a nods as he unties the last knot.
<Only Budapest?>
