and people kept not expecting it!
Looking back, it does seem like there was a little bit of GM tampering in the turns when Udil killed people after Neyravah.  Though I could be misremembering.
It wouldn't surprise me. He seemed to be a bit of a Creator's Pet.
And people kept yelling at me when I pointed it out.

And what happened? He kept killing people, and people kept not expecting it!
No, I mean after the Overgod made him a god because I killed a bunch of people. Then everyone was wary of the Ascendants because Udil.
Didn't no one expect him to continue killing gods? Including the Overgod himself?
I'm reminded of Achilles from Ender's Shadow. The difference is, Achilles kept his murders secret, while Udil was an idiot.

There is no concrete there. It's like if I just randomly picked an egg because I liked it and the rest would all be broken. And I kept doing that with no pattern.
You're putting words in my mouth. Where the hell are you getting "no pattern" from my description? The part where I don't specifically describe the qualities required for a "good cog," which should be obvious from the description?

And you're ignoring all the gods and such who could conceivably make their own afterlives and there is nothing Heaven can do to stop it since none of their cogs would help.
You're ignoring the fact that heaven is working for the gods. It's a bit like complaining about government because each state can't make their own national bureaucracy. Not to mention that the original idea was that the Gods of Heaven were overgods, Shys'm Caes and the like, while the others were simply (relatively) powerless late-comers. After all, why would the folks who set up reality just happen to care so much about humans?
And, as it happens, under the system you promote, gods still can't create

People being able to choose where they end up unconsciously is interesting...
No, it really isn't. It's a non-answer, and it's also horribly cliche. One of the biggest cliches, a major cop-out used by nearly every single fantasy sink and many non-fantasy sinks. It's the same old, same old. At least try to use a less-overused cliche and put a spin on that, rather than taking an un-spinnable major cliche!

and most of all, SOMETHING THE MAJORITY OF THE PLAYERS LIKE BETTER.
When did you become a majority?

No one has to yield to you. And please, do show me where Scapheap approved it.
Again, this was before we had everyone trying to cram their lore into their small packages. scapheap never needed to approve anything. Show where he approved of Aedan, or of Anima being Isis, or of any of this other crap that's been around since his days. So, basically you're asking for the Social Security number of someone born before that was a thing.

Sure. Who likes GWG's afterlife better than the one we have agreed upon.
No, we didn't agree on it. And if the fucking multiverse can go completely against established precedent whenever we like it...well, what's the point?

I don't even know what this argument is about anymore...
Orbital launch pads.

That's what KAS and quantum struts are for. No need for something stupid, unrealistic, and above all lazy.
What, like KAS (prone to exploding) and quantum struts (unrealistic)? KAS struts often fall off at physics reload.
Not familiar with KAS, but it's there.
As for quantum struts...ignore the word "quantum" in the name, and they're basically struts you can install after docking two spaceships. Very unrealistic. And not needed for your idea.

Sods also likely have the patience of the stupid, and can wait for something to happen far longer than a typical human squad would.
If they're told to. And what kind of commander would simultaneously be so stupid not to account for something that basic (if hare-brained), and yet so capable to get promoted to a sod command position?

Will mind-glares at Luna and bugs her with random, very unsexy trivia to try and punish her.

That only works if people continue to believe you won't continue to kill people, which won't happen after Udil.
That's what we thought during Udil.

If @Scapheap approved and @Elf did not overturn it, wouldn't it still be in effect regardless of what everyone else says?
So you'd think...

You're trying to make me out to be the bad guy here.
Oh, sorry, I forgot that ignoring established lore because it makes your writing easier was a saintly thing.

Tell me, what is more boring than just working in an office no matter where it is for the rest of eternity. At least in the original Christian heaven you could do things that were of some interest.
Actually, in the original Christian heaven, all you did was praise God for eternity. It's not a paradise where you have fun or anything, you just sing praises to God. I don't think you even get to pick what praises you sing.

Quote
And the demons apparently will just make you do menial tasks for all of eternity. Which is boring as well.
Depends on the demon, depends on the soul. Overall...so what? Dying sucks.

Quote
Also, it doesn't even discriminate on who goes where apparently. It's just based on if Heaven wants you for some arbitrary reason.
And what should it be based on? Why do the petty beliefs of some mortals have so much sway over cosmic processes?

Quote
In short, at least the current lore on the afterlife is interesting with concreteness and flavor.
What is so inconcrete about "You're going to Hell unless Heaven thinks you'll fit into their machine"? It's very specific.

<Sure. And I will point out that my jizz is magic so I don't think anything can govern what it does.>
<Most importantly including your own hopes and dreams.>

That's bad enough. And, really, it should be an outlet for Special Snowflake Syndrome.

<... Wrong channel Yuri... And I used a condom.>
<Condoms are questionably effective when the user isn't supernaturally fertile.>
Will senses Selina pale incredibly.
So does everyone else who knows Selina.

Yeah cause it sucked and was boring.
It's the afterlife. It's not supposed to be exciting.
And what I think you mean is "it didn't fit with what I wanted to make happen". Really, what's so sucky about a simple, concrete set of rules about something? Why is it boring to have only two afterlives? Why does everyone want to be able to make their own little special snowflake corner of the universe regardless of the lore that's been laid down?

Assuming @Elf approved it and never overturned it, I would presume that it still stands regardless of what other people say.
That was before lore was approved by Elf. Hell, it was before Elf was GMing!

And I doubt having one requires any of that, since the universal manipulator doesn't.
1. Amps require you to use bits of brain to control the amp. Manipulators? The controlly stuff is inside the manipulator.
2. Look at amp specialists. That's the simplest explanation for the life-support equipment.

Why would they necessarily know that you're cutting your way out?
1. The door doesn't open.
2. They have ears. What else would we be doing with a cutting thing? (One that wasn't cutting the door.)

Quote
Why would they follow/head you off?  They're defending the bridge.  Leaving the most important place to hunt down a single group of boarders that already decided to go away seems like a stupid idea.
...Then don't we need to face them anyways?

Quote
All that's kinda irrelevant though, when you realize the trap is probably just several sods that were told to shoot anyone that comes out of the elevator.  In which case, cutting through the ceiling wouldn't trigger their kill order.  Even if it is standard humans that will shoot ceiling people, coming from an unexpected direction would reduce the effectiveness of the ambush.
Assuming that the people ordering the sods around are idiots and that the sods are the only thing there, yes. If they aren't, or if there are turrets like there have been anywhere else of moderate importance, we'd be as screwed coming from the elevator as the wall.

Quote
Hell, just having ten seconds to lay on the floor and ready weapons before the doors open would be helpful.
Arguable, since you'd have one person completely unable to prepare for anything. And you're assuming that they don't have an override command. (And a properly-commanded sod is a universal override command.)
