Does there need to be one. All we know was that the light was coming from above.
1. Sunlight requires a sun. Otherwise, it's just light.
2. Building on that idea, it could just as easily be magical/electric lighting as it could be natural. In fact, for various reasons, such as the lack of night and the fact that we are still underground, I find it likely.

Why would you want them flushed out, why would those sewers be a good place to go into, back to ew, what, and why would you flush those.

Let's say it's been about 12 hours since the dual conception. Thus, the baby is probably around what a human fetus would be at 3 weeks. Or, technically, a human embryo--it's not a fetus yet.
