Forum Games and Roleplaying / Re: Gods and Mortals (IC thread)

Tantiy was pleased. It saw Its actions making the world a more peaceful place. A better outcome of these actions could not have been hoped for. It saw the Chaos Beasts, the Merfolk, the Drakin. Each made their own civilizations. And yet, each was imperfect. They struggled, they had trouble surviving. Moreover, new beings were entering the universe, more than Tantiy cared to count. It was a delicate situation...so for each of these new civilizations, Tantiy chose a single small change to improve them.

The Chaos Beasts had perhaps the hardest time of all. They barely survived. Tantiy took what they had, their mutations and their leaf-skins, and made them greater.
The Merfolk could survive, but had trouble living. They needed new powers to thrive on the waves. In addition, they couldn't keep falling into the Gullet. So Tantiy blessed the Merfolk; some of their children began being born with strange new powers.
Finally, the Drakin. Truly had Tantiy taken the most from these, so truly would It return the greatest gift. Each had a Quest they knew from birth, of varying difficulty. If they completed their Quest--to kill a dark overlord, or discover a secret, or make a truly wondrous work of art--their greatest desire would be fulfilled by that action. Perhaps the lord-slayer's heart's desire would be wooed by the might of the slayer, or the secret would be what they needed to become rich, or the sculpture would become imbued with magical powers needed to heal a dying sibling. Whatever the Quest and the wish, the Quest's difficulty was dependent on the wish's.

Tantiy watched the universe unfold, fearing and hoping for its future.

Act: Become 3 Minor Acts
Minor Act: Improve the Chaos Beasts' photosynthetic capabilities.
Minor Act: Make some merfolk Magfolk, who can summon plants from their hands and cause them to grow. This reduces the need for trips to land, if not completely removing them.
Minor Act: Give Drakin their Quests, as noted above.
Free?: Only swallow those who actually order war or somesuch into the Gullet. Stop punishing men for the deeds of their ancestors.

I'm not sure if it's him or his personality or his lack of experience or what, but he ruins more plans than he helps. Did I tell you about the time he ruined a plan, sometimes one he made, by angering the guards outside the building they were entering?
I'd have to be more specific, because he's done that in everything from low fantasy to cyberpunk.

Angel looks with concern at Nikki, wondering if she should let her drink some of her blood. She then contemplates the nature of vague pronouns.

-snip-
It was highly unusual. I suspect that factors we didn't know about combined with our luck conspired to nearly end Stone. (Again.)

We have probably already lost our wife (cannot hold land in her name, so has probably left our lands to return to the Duke. She probably also thinks us dead).

WE have probably already lost our lands. (Reassigned to another surviving lord due to our apparent death).
Aren't there regents for this kind of thing? We've got an heir, after all.

Quote
At the moment we have FUCK ALL. No land, equipment, skills, supporters and no fucking chance. The hospital is probably the best place to stay. After all, in the state we are in now, we haven't a hope in hell of getting to the capital or to our lands alive.
Depends on the state of the nation.

It might be a mistake on Mal's part, or it might be intentional, with something more coming.
Or it might be a mistake and there's something more coming.

:( Guys, Mal is gonna come back and find like 5 pages of stuff...
Back in my day*, I often waded through ten pages of posts, minimum, uphill both ways! And those were the slow days!
*Read "The heyday of RotMG and current TwiAc".

So much entertainment lost now.
Indeed. Geez, people...

Angel and Nuriel join the group. Angel looks significantly more excited about this than Nuriel.

Wow, Bowtie, you really need to get reading...
It's a traaap!
Is not!
And don't make me link to related tropes...

"Er..." Selina wonders is Nikki is 'hitting' on Angel... and if thats creepy or not.
Yes, it is kinda creepy.

I've decided that fuck it I'll run missions for everybody
*applause*

"Um... okay... l-l-later I guess...?" Selina seems okay with this.

"Y-y-yes... d-d-do you... you want to know... know too...?" Selina looks worried about telling Angel.
"Same thing you were going to tell Victoria, I guess."

She pouts at the sippy cup. "mmm... nasty." she pouts. "And they never have any I can drink..." she looks over at Angel, leaning on her. "Stupid blood drives not taking kids..."
Angel is conflicted.

She helps pet Lyle.

Also, one of the best ways to make a memorable character is to make them inconvenient. If your character is self-righteous and insufferable enough, they never forget it.
I know this guy. Don't encourage him.
Ahahahahahahaaaaaaa!

You remember it, so the system once again works.
Yes, I remember the campaign he went through three characters in, killing both the healers the group got in two (more like 1.5) adventures. If the campaign hadn't been ended early, I'm sure he would have gone through more characters and healers.
And that's when he's not trying to be a troll.
Don't. Encourage. Him.

Ah, yes. I will never forget the Paladin who knocked out a party member and tried to exorcise evil spirits out of him for killing a surrendered foeman.
Or the drow who killed the cleric for not hitting the ethereal filcher with a mace when he didn't have any weapons?

She has a nosebleed and her body is bright red from embarrassment. (5000!!!)
"Shouldn't she see a doctor for this?"
"Probably."

"T-t-too... Moe...?" Selina looks confused.
Angel considered responding before noticing the look Nuriel was giving her.
"You really think they'd care?"
"Probably."
"And you really care how they think?"
"A bit."

"I've got that saber, still."
Angel wonders if she should get a sword. She was pretty--
"No. Mom would kill me if she found out I let you."
"How did--"
"I read you like you read those absurdly thick books."
"They're not absurdly thick!"
"Ange, some are thicker than the textbooks."

((Yes.

NIGHT OF THE SECOND DAY.

24 HOURS REMAIN.))
((Until what?))

"Um... Y-yes Angel... W-we're friends..."
"Can you tell me stuff?"

"W-wait... A-Angel said it... It felt nice... D-d-does she... Is she... L-l-like that...?" Selina looks really worried now.
Angel is starting to feel a little worried, too, but she can't quite figure out why.

Nikki's explanation that she wouldn't go too far makes Angel feel better.

Yeah, RL circumstances mean I'm not coming on tonight.

Figures.

I know this guy. Don't encourage him.

Maybe... give him a sort of reason to want that.

I'm assuming you are in room 7
Those are some very long murder holes.
Locate the hole the dart came through and stand next to it. To clarify: not in front of it, in front of an adjacent section of wall with no holes.

((Give me 5 minutes to retcon.))
I'm not sure why I find this amusing, but I do.

[...]since NotSelina did say she should try it... and she has been reliable thus far...
Is this the same NotSelina that made Selina strip naked in front of Angel?

((Is the atmosphere shipping people's characters?))
Wait, this is news to you?

"I don't have to listen to either do I? They sound like they give Fae a ba- I mean, worse name."
"To be fair, full-blooded fae are usually dickbags. Halfers and shit like you can be as nice as any other human, but full Fae... not so much."
It's true. Kyle screwed up big time, but at least he's just ignorant and not malevolent. My point is...are we being too hard on Kyle?

Sorry, no, bunch of crap happened today.
That sucks. May the morrow be less sucky.

You still haven't added fluffy to delta...
Damn it! I accidentally entered his name as 'Delta' for some reason. I really need to stop multitasking.
Amusing.

I like building goblin prisons in my fortress... I use them to train armies of rookies against single opponents... they fail even at 6-1 odds...
Well maybe you shouldn't pit half a dozen goblin soldiers against each of your new recruits.
Have you removed their gear?
