((Um... You were at Ground Zero, right? Because if so, there shouldn't be a body. That close, and you're just gone. No body, no bones, nothin'. Not even ash. Just... poof.Between the fact that he wasn't literally at ground zero and how (as you should have gathered) the bomb was much smaller than the intended one, survival is quite possible.
Then again, this is a SuperHero/Villian/Nuetral game, so the rules for this kinda thing are doubtless different.))
EDIT: I don't mean your character, as we already know that he's alive. I meant the officer. Just wanted to make that clear.
I'm starting to get irritated at people who don't PM words. It's intentional on my part. I'm hoping to make this a different-feeling game from Perplexicon. Heck, I have half a mind to make my word compilation public...but that would remove all the challenge, so I won't.
I love the fact that I'm getting new words but its completely overshadowed that every other player now knows them too.
((Kyle and Catherine are at the school already.))((Oh. I misread. Then they met them at school, I guess.))

First things first, you need to pick your active job. You can pick Squire, Alchemist, Archer, or your unique job, Mechanic.Um...I will go with the second option. Let's see if this stuff starts to make sense after a few battles.
You'll probably also want to pick a secondary "active" ability set. For instance, if you go into battle as a mechanic, you can choose to also use your Alchemist abilities.
However, you need to buy abilities with JP before you can use them (the exception being that, even if you don't buy the ability to use Potions on other people, if you have Alchemist abilities set you can still use potions on yourself). You have 150 JP in each job, and you spend JP from a given job to buy the abilities from that Job's ability list.
So for instance, a very basic setup would be to take the Squire class and take the Rush ability, set Items (the Alchemist ability set) as your secondary active ability set, and buy Potions as an Alchemist ability. This would let you use potions on yourself or adjacent allies.
If you wanted to focus on ranged combat, you could switch Job to Archer and take the bowgun, buy the Charge+4 Archer ability, set your Mechanic skills as your secondary skillset, and buy Table Construct. Then you can place your construct, hop on, and spam Charge+4 while your construct moves you forward.
