You could have asked "Hey, how many types of animals do we need?" or "Say, won't a lack of biodiversity be a problem?" or "Wait, what's necessary to have a tribe that won't starve again?"
Instead you went on a tirade about, amongst other things, how I need to handwave thousands of undefined but assumed species in, because otherwise I'm going to cause the ecosystem to crash because RL ecosystems don't always do so well without thousands of species.))

You didn't actually disprove them, you tried to go on about how players could create all the species they needed to and didn't need to make that many without actually explaining that the reason for this is that the problem I was complaining about didn't exist.))

Possibility 4: Cado is making this up as s/he goes along.

Maybe add another layer of detail, like optional material components/foci that change the effect. (E.g, "Adding sulfur makes the end result flaming. Adding bat guano makes the end result explode. Adding eye of newt makes the end result twice as strong...")

If Selina doesn't go back no normal...Maria, Angel, Matt, and let's face it Kyle and Yuri will really feel it.

Angel will be angry and angsty and stuff. And probably ordered to go home when her mother calls Selina.
Maria...well, duh. Depression.
Matt will be traumatized by one of his girlfriends going 180 and the other getting depressed.
