They relaxed. They didn't even notice that Nuriel was trying to hide her thoughts from them.
Nuriel was confused, feeling things she had never really felt before. Demons don't really feel love--they are literally made to not recognize feelings like that. The closest they came were lust and respect for someone in power, which suited the archdemons well. And yet, here she was...actual feelings of affection for someone. This was, she had to admit, new.
Nuriel hadn't been a brainy demon, and yet...she thought. Eventually, she came to the conclusion that whatever Nuriel had accidentally been doing to Angel, Angel had been doing that. This binding thing either left a bit more Angel in Nuriel than intended, or made the distinction between them more obvious, or something.
It was as good an idea as any. And it made Nuriel feel better. I'm not actually feeling this. It's Angel.
And yet, she kept the mental image Selina sent her.
