Angel's current class is essentially over, so she checks her e-mail.

I'd be able to come over later tonight. Where?

Good question. I'd be willing to host you guys at my and Stella's house, if she's fine with it, but I suspect that Maria's would be more spacious. Thoughts?

((I'll check to see if we have those later.))

You would want to arrest a person who's figured out how to make a castle fly?
Besides, aren't Angels like Lawful Good? Or Lawful in general.
Can the person in question annihilate nations with ease?
And only as much as the forces commanding them. You could argue that Dumah was being Lawful Good, and that it's us humans who are Chaotic Evil, but I'd call Dumah evil due to its disregard for human life and its wicked goals.

Also, how does the propulsion system for the castle work? I would presume it's either pure technology, or magical except shielded with another antimagic field. If it is the former case, then please do keep in mind that skills outside of a character's abilities will obey the laws of physics, artistic license be damned.

Also, don't forget to post the info on IRIS and the details of how it acquired and maintained its resources, facilities and influence. The same goes for @Ragnarok.
I support the request for details!

((Hm. Something tells me I don't have one of those.))

Take the hoe downstairs. Decide on a room to use as a "toolshed" for the present (probably the smallest, emptiest one on the first floor) and put it there.
Sweep the fields in search of other tools which might have been abandoned and forgotten.

Well, to be fair, you kinda cheated. You didn't study at all!
So? You can pay attention in class without studying.

And it's not like anyone should care more than, say for example, the angels blasted Maria's house.
What, do you want to arrest an angel? What are you going to do, send him a court summons? Few postal services deliver stuff to heaven.

((Um...I dunno. How do farmers usually deal with rusty tools?))

((Guards that, by all means, are never supposed to even fight.
You might as well make an argument that you don't actually need to fill that fire extinguisher, because your house is, by all means, never supposed to even be on fire.

((Except the fact that it literally breaks physics.  In theory, you should have to break physics to be stronger than something which breaks physics.
Wrong. Let's say you have a physics-breaking ant who manages to lift a thousand times what its physical muscles can lift. You're still stronger than the ant; in fact, your cat probably is.'
This is a pretty dull example, but there are intermediate ones about (say) physics-breaking copper versus normal bronze/steel/nanomaterials. Simply put, physics-breaking =/= superior, any more than high-tech == superior (and the logic is much the same).

Quote
Since we're now into meta territory, let me try a different argument: Piecewise will (probably) not allow you to have something flat superior to everything else, without a good reason for it.
Well, first off, that was an example. Second off, it really doesn't need to be "flat superior to everything else" to be better than synthflesh for one purpose. Third off, yes he would, if we had to put an appropriate amoung of effort into it.

Quote
But I highly doubt he'll allow you to say "I spend X turns researching a better material that's cheaper and stronger than the next best thing"; PW is bad at balancing systems, but he is very, very good, at making a fun game.  Being handed phlebotinum for nothing is not fun, and devalues the other forms of fun.))
And I highly doubt that Sean expects that to happen.

...So, why're you making it if an avatar's just gonna be stronger, in the same role, at the same size?
Who said that an Avatar performs the same role as a giant mecha?

((No, they're stagnating themselves culturally.  Technology has gotten somewhat stagnated, for a damn good reason- quiet worlds.  Technology development still exists, as shown by Gauss tech level 2, and they 'prospect' quiet worlds for new tech.  And they assimilate alien tech into their stuff.
I daresay that technology's more stagnated than not, from what we've seen. Sure, it's not 100% stagnant, but there's not much going on technologically.

((Saint'll try to set him straight.  And if that fails, ignore him and make more effective space magic based alternatives to his equipment.))
And Anton will not. Instead, he'll research more reliable metamaterials. And that's fine, especially since the mecha could incorporate both.

Quote
Or I might be speaking complete gibberish.
Nope, you're pretty much right-on. Speaking generally, the amount of force a structure of a given composition and structure can take is proportional to its area, while its mass (and hence the force exerted on it by gravity) is proportional to the volume. It's the most common application of the Cube-Square Law.

Quote
((A control system wrapped inside a load of nearly invincible material, that undoubtably has even more redundancies than an avatar.  And more than one pilot.))
So what you're telling me is that the titans, which are more powerful, more intelligent, and have more raw stuff that needs to be kept under control, which would logically create an exponentially increasing amount of control relative, and hence an increasing control equipment:synthflesh ratio...has control equipment (including cockpits) which are a smaller proportion of the total volume of the thing and more heavily armored?

Quote
And humanity is overrated, we should make an assault rifle that chops off your head every time it fires as a hidden feature.  Would massively increase the effectivness of our ground forces.))[/spoiler]
Disagree. Remember, an army made of meat-bodied humans with decent morale will defeat an army of robots who've lost their will to live and who hate their commanders any day.

Take the hoe and start cleaning it and otherwise making it more ready for use.

Same thing I do for most: Complete the final with the information I stored in my memory over the course of the semester.

Stand up and piss on desk. Much cooler.
...
Dude. Not cool. I submitted an action, I expect you to have my character do my action, or something similar if and only if I roll badly, capiche? That's basic GMing ettiquette. And you, well, pissed all over it by having my character urinate on the desk instead of taking the test as I intended.
What the hell is wrong with you?

KJ, you do realize that stunts like this ARE going to be punished, most likely quite heavily, right?
I think kj's complaining about Bartimaeus crashing the helicopter. If that hadn't happened, Kyle would have basically been doing something like arguing with a police officer for driving too fast at, say, 2:00 when there weren't many cars around; it's a bad idea, but you're not going to get thrown in jail or anything if you wise up. Since it did, it's more like hitting the police officer while driving too fast at 2:00. Both have consequences, but Bartimaeus made it worse.

"The EU has ordered a minor evacuation of the castle's possible crash zone. Negotiations are continuing at this moment, but neither side is willing to back down. The French Air Force has ordered..."
"Kyle, you idiot, just land!"

The helicopter's rotor slowly stops spinning.
"Agh! What's going on! SHIT-"
The helicopter crashes into the castle, sending some brickwork flying. The rotor flys off and damages some battlements, while the body of the craft is slightly crushed. There's a dust cloud over the scene.
"...Even Kyle's not that dumb. Seems we've got some kind of hostile interference. Or maybe an incompetent friendly interference; Creation knows there's a decent chance of that."

"Hmm I'd better tell air traffic control that I'm going to be flying"
"Do so. Have a fun flight, I'll see you when you get back."

"So... what did everyone do to their bracelets the broke the teleporting?"
"It's called a retcon, dumbass."

One thing that's been bugging me.
The mech size gives a number of "SD". Are these Special Defenses or Support Devices?
