Use the force! Throw the statue at the enemy, and see if anything happens!

Also try and find something else to do. IDEA GET! Shrews are THE most vicious mammal in nature. TAME A SHREW AND MAKE IT OUR OWN CREATION.
You have no mana! You'll have to wait until dawn before you can cause more miracles.
WELL WE SHALL SIMPLY HAVE TO HAVE A STARING CONTEST WITH THE STATUE.
We will INTIMIDATE IT INTO LIFE!
WE DEPRESSINGLY HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO!

Wait for sunrise.

I simply don't really care about the other stuff.

Although "Gameplay Features" sounds neat...

The short version: Because it's interesting, and/or because they're still trying to get control of their magic (perhaps as an unconscious symbol for puberty).

Since when has anyone here claimed sanity?

<---
Not sane, per se, but less insane than you guys, which makes me relatively sane.

1. That's a crappy researcher, and adventurers are rarely research scientists.
2. They know the mage is dead. How couldn't they? And the demonic bits are the basis of the sob story.
2a. I still don't see why we should follow it, or why the humans would automatically assume we would if we gave them clear evidence to the contrary.
3. Every race has exceptions. The adventurers should know this, if they're experienced to take down a moderately powerful mage. After all, you can't take out a goblin fortress without an inside man or an army, and adventurers lack the latter.

And what use do they have for it [the amulet], anyways?

(Appeal to the one sole 'good' member of the party.)
1. Implying crappy researchers don't exist. Implying mage adventurers don't research things. Implying thief adventurers don't know any 'researchers' that would pay.
2. Your 'clear evidence' consisting of our word, and all of 5 minutes of good behavior. Following our master's wishes of vengeance just so happens to coincide with our own goals. Actually, they don't, since we're just trying to get our amulet back, not kill the adventurers.
3. Should know this? What about killing a heretic mage implies a deep understanding of other cultures? Implying a close-minded adventuring group can't be good at what they do. For your example, an inside man could likely be acquired with coin, and would hardly go against any negative goblin stereotypes.

Keeping their new mascot in line.
1. True, but if the adventurers cared they'd get a good researcher.
2. Our goals are "Get the amulet, not die". The adventurers should be able to realize that. There's no real reason for us to kill them. Why does everyone else seem to want to do so, anyways? It's not like Master showed any kind of affection for us.
3. Not heretic, evil. In any case, being willing to work with goblins shows that they are willing to work with stereotypically evil beings, which is good for us. And I'm not implying that close-minded groups can't be good at what they do, I'm stating that they'd be worse (and, in most fantasy worlds, atypical).
4. Keeping a corpse in line isn't worth much.

And if we can't get to them first, or we miscalculate them, we wind up enslaved, vivisected & dead.
And if we don't try, we end up dead anyways.

Quote
Also, if the other two are murderous bastards, why is the good person hanging around with them?
The same reason adventuring parties of greatly differing alignments always stick together.
And the good person doesn't need to be an angel, just not a devil.

Shades of grey. They're most likely going to be adventurers for profit, probably (as others have said) with religious ties, and sure if we do it right they might adopt us, but again the only real outcomes: ENSLAVEMENT, because we have legs and it would be stupid to hand us our chain. SOMETHING WORSE, like vivisection. Because honestly, talking about adventuring party composition: the group of murderous thugs would be a lot more successful than a group of airheads, and that's what we'd need to be able to walk out of that situation with our amulet.
And the worst that happens? We escape when it turns out they're untrustworthy.
Glide. Walk. Whatever.

ACTIONS!
+1 to RAMs. As for silver, 'I'm not going to be revealing myself, but I pay with real silver' toss the sack on the table, assuming we're in the same room. 'Consider that a downpayment if you accept'. I don't see why we can't play the role of a magician intrigued by a demonic amulet- would explain why we don't want to be dealing with the adventurers directly, if it got the last guy killed.
Can't argue with this.

Fire the town.
Wha?

It looks like allying with the adventurers is out of the picture if they react to the bit of demon-ness on our amulet with what seems to be trying to dispel it.
While I agree that this is likely, I'm not convinced enough to discount an alliance. They could have just been experimenting with it.

I have though of something we might investigate before just setting fire to the town and hoping for the best though. Food and supplies need to get into the castle somehow, so it might be worthwhile to check whether we can make use of our small size to smuggle ourself into the castle.
Why does everything end with Bay12 trying to burn everything?

Why is it that two people have trouble with their magic forms?
Which other one are you thinking of, Gintama?

28554
What would it take to spread to several, wildly different environments? It may cause divergent evolution, but then again, it is one major feature of evolution.
Agreed. I'd like it if we formed the ancestors of the dominant clade.

28555
Hm...why isn't there an option in the poll for "Players"?

"Thank you. I would be glad for an escort, as my previous escort seemed to follow a different master than I. Good riddance, I say; I hope that my new escort will be better company than the old."

Accept the escort. Chat with them about the state of our respective land. Don't reveal anything that would get the King angry at me, but answer their questions. If the latter conflicts with the former, explain why I can't tell them. Take a mental note of whatever I learn.

GWG, he hates a random blade so much he's leaving her to die. Having known her for all of 3 minutes.
...Do you mean Alexandria herself, who gave Grewie good reasons to dislike from the very start, never helped, in fact insulted her, proved to be an idiot to his eyes, and let's not forget is in the middle of exceptionally hostile territory?
Or am I missing something?

28558
Wow. That is a wall of text. And, no offense, but it's terribly formatted.

I'll go with Regeneration and Arcane Analysis, the latter fluffed as looking it up on my laptop and the former making me consider a new idea for Gretchen's magical form...As for the Finisher (and that Wall of Text was MUCH better-formatted, what with the bolding), it's a Grand Barrage done via bug swarm...probably summoned, although rethinking the magical form might cause that to be refluffed.
And, of course, the Arcane Mastery and Integrity Scan.

(OOC knowledge, Selina's mom is Homophobic, especially girls as they should be respectable. Her mom also doesn't know that she likes girls. You see the big problems this will later cause?)
No.
I'm being sarcastic.
Well, that's yet another reason not to like Nuriel. I've determined that her "sexuality" is probably bisexual, although immature so sexuality isn't really the right word at this point.

(Placing my bet that we save a child alien.)
I hope so...ideally at a point I'm online, which means "next week or later"...

we have ALOT of comedy reliefs. :P
Like Nuriel in her non-terrifying moments.

I'm thinking about what would happen if Anima and Selina's mother had a shouting match about Selina's and Maria's relationship....
add Angel's mom in there finding out about truth or dare and we've got the war of the century going between three... "concerned" mothers.
You know what would make the powderkeg even worse?
Nuriel. Nuriel's good at making things worse.

We always forget someone.
Ayup. Often Angel.

Let's retcon Angel back into the game!

(lets assume we're at the capital and its like... 10am.)
Nuriel stops on the outskirts of the city, partially due to a constant headache, putting Selina back on solid ground again.
"P-p-please d-d-don't d-do that again..." Selina is in the fetal position as she has a panic attack.
"Why not? We got here in record time! Now we just need to wait for the others. Moron."
Angel returned, and noticed something. "How'd they catch up? Nuriel was jetting across the sky like a...jet..."

Selina calms down a bit, she atleast stopped shaking and loosened her grip on her knees.

"I-I... n-n-never want to... f-f-fly again..."
"I'm sorry about Nuriel. I promise I'll try to figure out how to fly in normal form so I don't have to let Nuriel fly you around."
Having determined that this tended to make Selina feel better, Angel hugged Selina.

"Uh.. its.. its my Mom... I... I don't think I should... should reply till... till after the meeting with... with the president..." Selina looks a really nervous about something.
"That's logical."

Angel followed Selina at a distance, trying not to interfere with the "date". She also tried to remain unobtrusive, hoping to pass for an unimportant little sister. No one would connect her with Nuriel, right?
She practiced fire-flying, discovering along the way a method to magically extinguish fires. Due to not being Nuriel, the military folks easily ignored her--maybe they didn't even notice the little girl near all the older people.

"...That didn't go well..." Conny looks truly afraid though she tries to hide it.
"That is...obvious."

"I-I-If they... w-wanted to a-a-attack... w-why'd they c-crash...? D-do you... th-think they're... d-deserters...?"
"I would assume it had some root cause in mechanical failure and/or crew incompetence. Or there's more than one species of sapient extraterrestrials. Occam's Razor."

"I-I-If they... w-wanted to a-a-attack... w-why'd they c-crash...? D-do you... th-think they're... d-deserters...?"
"No idea. By the time we saw them, they were heading down and the SOS is only saying 'help, we are attack by dog crocodile hybrids."
"...Really? Last I saw one of those, they were with the foes. This indicates either a loss of control over the beasts, or...something   interesting is going on..."

(when the rest catch up)

You head to the hole, it a jagged thing that seem at least a mile deep with scorch marks everywhere. That said, it seem easy enough to jump down to the bottom, but best in magic form so one does not break a leg on landing
Nuriel took over once they got there and shoved her way to the front, diving into the hole and leaving a trail of fire behind her to light the way down. Towards the bottom, she slowed herself with wings and flame-jets.

At the bottom of the shaft, you find blood, lots of it, caking the walls and pooling at the bottom. A trail of blood leads down a tunnel, naturally formed, away from the blood pool.
When the others arrived, Nuriel disavowed guilt for the blood.

"Prepare for battle. I don't like that sound, nor do I like the implications of blood trails on the ceiling, or those roars."
"You'n me both, Ma--Annie. Whatever."

"...We forgot Miranda didn't we?" Ghost resists the urge to facepalm with a sword in her hand.
"Who?" Nuriel ignored the minor pain in her head. That was getting easier and easier. Angel was losing her grip, and Nuriel didn't mind.

In the meantime, Nuriel was growing impatient. "Let's just go." Nuriel heads forward.
