I agree mainly with Harbingerjm, but maybe instituting democracy so early is a bad idea?
Lets just tell them that we will loosen laws, we are better armed, and the people who assassinated the king are still a threat.
Sounds like a plan.

So, in other news there may be libraries in the making soon. So that's nice.
*applause*

There's nothing above a good old book BBQ.

Though, why libraries. It's not exactly a priority, nor very usefull.
*booing*
Libraries store knowledge, humanity's most valuable product. Also, magic exists.

Guys, I found a list of all spells used in the Harry Potter series. Be afraid.
Wha?
I FOUND A LIST OF ALL THE SPELLS USED IN THE HARRY POTTER SERIES!
Where, why, and so what?

I am actually thinking about seperating the abilities into racial, martial and magical. As we are sneaking around an awful lot, adding it as a skill with abilities seams quite reasonable by now. We obviously would incur no penality towards any magic we learn afterwards, and since we are a magical type it won't grant us as much boni as mage-related stuff - or we just "level" the skill up slower.
Anyways, your thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.
I'm all for having ability levels in mundane but non-trivial tasks like stealthy movement, climbing difficult surfaces, leaping great distances (especially because we can't fly right now, only glide), swimming, disguise/camouflage, and other such things.  We're not powerful enough to tackle all of our problems head-on, and we're not mundane enough to keep a low profile simply by not drawing attention to ourself.  We need the ability to improve our alternative problem-solving skills with practice.
We should take this time to find a good spot for a temporary lair in the city.  A difficult to access part of this cultural center might be ideal, if we can find a hidden path to get there.  Under the floor or somewhere up inside the roof, maybe.  A safe place to sleep will be useful even if we're only here for a night, and if it includes mana recovery, that's great if we have to stick around for a while.
Rest up, rise bright and early, and resume tracking down our soul amulet.  Start by trying to get at the sorceress unnoticed, but not if she's in the tower.
Agreed. While we're here, see if we can identify any of the adventurers in the crowd.

If soldiers get a say, the submarine and forest places seem like god choices.

(( That is not exactly what I had in mind,
Well, duh.

Faking a voice and attacking somebody is a little different.
Why? They can both fail or succeed, and if both matter they should both be rolled.

Quote
If it's being faked as part of an action sure I'd expect a roll, but for pure rp with no game impact it seems pointless.
If so, I agree.

That some rubbish blades in my opinion then :P.
Or a rubbish king for agreeing to that. That's a recipe for a coup right there...and she just sent her biggest rival away from court.
If I wasn't so certain Alexandra had no intentions of taking over the kingdom, I'd think she was trying to take over the kingdom.

On Spymastery vs Espionage: As I've explained to Alexis' player via PM, this was a balance choice.  You can either be a capable spy, or command a cadre of spies, but not both.  That would be far too unbalanced.
Unless it took both talents, of course. But they're really not that much alike anyways.

A king should never sleep without beautiful women around him.... in fact, maybe I should make this offer IC.
If I wasn't so sure you weren't interested in killing the king, I'd suspect this as a ploy to get close to the king while he's sleeping. And/or to get a royal heir as a descendant.

The Ogre Papacy is exactly what it sounds like - the power of the church is terrifying, for the priesthood are hulking monsters. The Ogres, who claim they are descended from the titans of myth, wander the land as both warriors and philosophers, seeking out the mighty to convert to the faith. It is rumoured the sacrifices offered up to the Church go directly for the Ogre leader to devour.

Or somesuch.
Sounds kinda like the medieval church, except that it's run by monsters and more cannibalistic.

Can I just point out that the head huntsmen and royal forester got lost.... in the forest.... twice.
Yeah, the king might need to get more lucky huntsmen and foresters soon...

CANON.
Which kind?

Alexis 2.0 asked you to attend a meeting at night, oh and she also asked if we have any mines, forges or tanneries near our borders that don't belong to us.
He already said no.
Just joking.

And we haven't even faced that many monsters yet? Anima and Not Kyle have, possibly Miranda, and I can't speak for Nuriel/Gintama.
I don't think Nuriel's faced any.

Edit: I just realised something... How long do you think Selina will be grounded when her mom finds out she/Ghost helped smash the house to pieces?
Who knows? It'll probably wait until she has somewhere to be grounded, though...

.....Selina's going to be doing a lot of blushing.
How is this different than normal?

Purple isn't unaccounted for. Yaos, remember?
By that logic, there should also be pawns for Al, Cherish, and so forth.

28824
((Gah, I missed a turn!))

"...Gintama? Who's--" Angel stirs, making a great but careful effort. Nuriel's hair goes slightly gray, her eyes blue slightly, she becomes slightly shorter, and her voice sounds like Angels, saying, "Gintama! If you have any gin, soak the scale-lady!" Then these changes reverse, and Nuriel shakes her head. "What the...oh, right." She then, in a stint of creativity, throws a fireball at Tabella! (After Gintama soaks her, if he does.)

((Tabella's the name of the woman we're fighting, right?))

It is a sort of brownish ridgeback, bridgeback?
I'm guessing a juvenile ridgeback.

Oh ah. good plan.
Coherent enough to work, complex enough that it can't be investigated for a while. +1

"I gratefully accept the position. And as for the escort, I appreciate the thought and will accept a few guardians. More than that seems unneeded."

Begin preparations for the journey.

Why should it need a roll? It's only a rp action and they are trained for that sort of thing anyway, it's all part of hiding who they really are.

By that logic you need a roll to see if you could tell it was not Alexis's voice since it was muffled by a mask.
I agree that there should have been an opposed roll, with the Blade having a bonus for a muffled voice.
However, don't expect training to make things work automatically. Training makes you better, but it does not make you a limited-scope god. If the Blades were attacking someone, would you protest rolling to hit because they are trained with blades?

Nah, just let it progress naturally. Discussing it in advance diminishes the fun in my opinion.
Agreed.

Scapheap, you have your players shitting themselves in their first real battle.
Well played, good sir!
It only a wake-up/puzzle boss, but thank :)
The only puzzle I can see is how to play her minions off each other with only IC knowledge.

Still, destroying its mind and keeping its body locked away for emergencies wouldn't be a bad thing...
Also, having a mad werecreature locked in the closet could well end up giving a nosy adventurer a fun time.
Especially if it was a heavily locked closet with a sign on it saying "DO NOT ENTER".

He also wanted the red mushroom.
actually, he wanted a meal, and we just happened to have the mushroom on us.
He has waited for this mushroom for a very long time.
Emphasis this. Clearly, he really wanted this mushroom--or a mushroom much like it, at least.
And if we'd fed him a yellow mushroom or a blue mushroom or a luminescent green mushroom we'd have probably got the exact same thing just with slightly different wording and a slightly different picture, and now people would be going on about how yellow/blue/luminescent green was Slog's favourite colour.
There's also the red slime, and the red face you'll have when I point out that I'm not that serious.

Quote
Anyway, shouldn't we have learnt from the Cain theorycrafting thing about making decisions based on their 'colour'?
There was also the fact that we initially assumed that only Siblings have Soul Stars. If we had realized sooner that all non-Illborn (and, possibly, non-Willborn) have Soul Stars, we might have put Al and Ill together sooner to get...um...four? This metaphor isn't very flexible.
