Eye twitching slightly, turn around and run into the spawn room.

"Jesus CHRIST, Unlucky, you mind conserving some strength to help the rest of us? I realize that you get off to murder, but this is nonsense!

Wildly fire stones at Unlucky, not caring if anything around him gets pelted as well.

If you survive that, maybe you can cool off until we get somewhere.
You can't even see Unlucky, and suspect that the stone wall would impede your accuracy and effectiveness.

Look for a weapon and someone bad at rapping.
Just to point out, experience suggests that Snow could find a bad rapper in a mirror.
And, remember, I've been giving him a +2 bonus to Rapping...

Sorry about holding that, no idea why I did that.
Still, in that example Australia wins no matter how many rabbits there are.
Australia isn't the Void, because rabbits don't eat continents.
The Void is the native life that the rabbits eat/compete with, which is in fact losing big time.

Gins.
Ah. Maybe McDreich's comic relief will be based on that hilarious typo.

Quote
And smarter yes, but i believe Selina holds the highest magic when transformed and normal except for Cyrus...
I never said anything about magic, just that Angel could beat all your characters in, say, a spelling bee or Jeopardy. (I don't expect those to come up, though.)

Well, I was hoping we could test to see if we could reverse the process. If for nothing else than possibly seeing what useless skills we have churn out reagent wise. Doubt it will work, but you never know.
...Worth a shot. Start with something we can stand to lose. Frizz, maybe.

You can only build in unoccupied home supply centers which you control. Also, I'm pretty sure that France only gets Portugal, not Spain - you can only claim supply centers in autumn.
Really? Huh. I did not know those tidbits. Especially not the "only capture in autumn" one.
Dangit. Well, this explains some of those strategy guide things that didn't make sense...

That wasn't my turn.
It looks like the one in my inbox...

What? I'm pretty sure I sent you my turn GWG...

EDIT: Yeah, I just checked my sent message box. My turn is sitting right there already sent to you three days ago.
Criminitely, I must have accidentally deleted it somehow.

According to the standard rules, you can only build in your starting SCs. But maybe GWG is doing it different.
Not on purpose, no.

-----

Alright, so complaints are:
1. Turn screwups
2. Rule screwups

Should I rerun Autumn?

Search team, with Jeese and Charlie on Combat.

For the future: That Stoneflesh looks pretty useful...and 2k is always useful...
Agreed on the Stoneflesh. The Diamond would get us enemies instead of friends. But lets start at 4k, and bargain down, but slowly.

For reference, how much is gold worth in a real currency?
Yeah. I would also like to know how much gold is worth in terms of something common and mundane like wheat.
Something tells me that the economy will be a bit off from what we know. For starters, stuff like our Tree probably depresses the value of many high-value commodities. On that note...

Quote
As for the magical items, I'm more intrested in the AETHER and the COLD IRON. If we could find a smith who could handle one of those substances, we could get into the business of growing magic materials on our tree and selling powerful arms and armor.

Or at the very least we could get a cool sacred AETHER blade. We should ask Charlie and Jesse if either of them know a good smith after the dungeon crawl.
Can we reimprint our Tree?

Your sig text tempts me so Scapheap, but I can't bring myself to it.
To use which, guns or gins?

-----

I find it amusing that my character is younger than the others by about a decade. She's also smarter than any of the others when not Transformed. Anyways, once I figure out the backstory enough to save it I'll be done.

We probably won't find anything too amazing anyways...ReagentWise
No matter what we use for reagents, we need higher tiers to get cooler stuff.
On a seperate note, we could essentially farm our reagents for gold, as skills are hard to come by.
Hm...
Did we ever see how much that Growth skill sold for, and if it would be worth the time to produce?

29184
WHY ARE THERE SCRIBBLES
Someone scrawled over the textbook.

I am starting to thing GWG doesn't want to continue. He certainly takes it out on the vast majority of his pictures.
Not so. I'm just going to be out of town for a while.

Alright, we're missing . Let's have all his units hold, I don't want to delay this game longer.

Autumn 1915
Spoiler: Turns (click to show/hide)

Notable Events:
Americans Invade Hispanola: US Military forces have occupied the island of Hispanola. Perhaps the same warlike fervor which ignited the European powers' leaders earlier this year have made it across the Pond?
Austrian Advance: The Austrian Armed Forces are marching down the Mediterranean. Since late July, they have conquered Albania, Serbia, and neighboring regions.
Battle of the Belgium: A prolonged battle in Belgium occurred mid-August, between a French army from the south, an English force landed on the northern coast, and the Belgian forces trapped in the middle. Belgium has managed to remain free, although it took 5,000 military casualties and an estimated 12,000 dead by enemy fire or other factors relating to the invasion. The English took 4,000 casualties, and the French 3,000. Notably, the English transport HMT Royal Edward was sunk by an unknown craft, believed to be either a Belgian submarine or a German U-Boat; nearly a quarter of all English casualties were from this incident. When questioned, it was noted that neither side's leadership "trusted" the other with Belgium.
Bulgarian-Serbian Tensions Rise: Even though both have been conquered by nearby powers, Serbs and Bulgarians have some sort of tension between them, as is clear from an October 11th event when a Bulgarian militia invaded Serbia. Turkey disavowed responsibility, and the Austrian army quickly put down the militia.
Czeck Revolution: Starting in November, a number of Czechoslovakians began to demand independence. Russian leadership was not available for comment.
Earthquake in Nevada: A 7.9 Richter scale earthquake struck Pleasant Valley, NV, in the US. This is an unusually powerful earthquake, and caused devastation to the region.
Greece Increased Military Spending: "Project Sparta," as the government is calling it, is an effort to bolster Greek defenses by spending large amounts of money on defense. When questioned about this, Greek officials noted the disturbing rise in nations being conquered.
Isozno River Nervous: Italians in the Isozno River region noted distress at the presence of troops so near their homes and are protesting their presence. "It's not like we're at war with Austria-Hungary!" one man is noted as saying. "Greece, Belgium, and the Scandanavian region are the only free nations in Europe, not counting the seven titans, and we intend to remain on the list."
Iberian Campaign Concludes: Oporto's capture in late September marked the end of the Iberian Campaign in France, which had total casualties on the order of 11,000.
Japanese-Chinese Relations Break Down: A conference in Seoul between the two Japanese nations lead to a disintegration of relations between the two, allegedly when the Chinese representative threw rice at the Korean mediator. The outcome of this is uncertain.
Missing Sultan: Sultan Ahmed has gone missing, confirmed as of mid-August. Assassination is suspected.
Old Holland pushes for Naval Law: The former nation of Holland, recently added to German territory, has demanded that a law relating to naval accidents be passed. Perhaps in response, on August 19th, Germany placed rationing laws on the Dutch.
Over a Million Model T's: Ford Motor Company announced its millionth Model T ever produced in early October.
Raggedy Ann: A new handmade doll is hitting the markets. Market analysts suggest that its fame will not last past Christmas, if it lasts that long.
Rumanian War Ends: The Rumanian War, a conflict lasting on and off since May or so, ended in October, with an unexpected Austrian retreat. The final casualties were estimated at 4,600 Austrian, 3,100 Russian, and nearly 15,000 Rumanian.
Russian General Dead: The old Russian general died, under mysterious circumstances. Nicolaas II, a rising officer and political wannabe, has been appointed as the leader of the Russian armed forces.
Tunisian War: Italian fleets landed on the coast of Tunisia in mid-November and swiftly captured its capital city. Tunisia is the first foreign acquisition by Italy in recent years.

Casualtiometer: 6,000+48,500

Now, time for winter. That's when units come from. Most nations can build a single unit on one of their supply centers, but France can make two, and poor England has no builds. I can't remember if you can build in any supply center or just "home" supply centers--could someone remind me?
Winter is just building, no moving and certainly no moving the same unit twice, kj.

P.S. I think I've decided on a timeframe to use in future turns:
Spring: Feb-Jun
Autumn: Jul-Nov
Winter: Dec&Jan

Request a bit more knowledge from the GM on what the birds look like so I can give them names.
The bird is about the size of a raven, with yellow feathers. It has a red belly, and very sharp, And long, talons.
Consider its head and beak size and proportions, as well as things like wing shape and foot structure. Does it look like a hawk? a canary? a hummingbird? a corvid? something else?

DF Suggestions / Re: Furnace type workshop changes (to add realism)
« on: June 09, 2013, 08:30:20 am »
It would add yet another use for large pipe sections, when they come in for moving liquids around* - connect some to the furnaces (or to the chimney-hole above them) and use them to direct smoke out of the way.
Chimneys? Interesting idea. I hadn't thought of that for some reason.

What if your fortress is built into an established volcano and vents near the pipe?
that...that would be bad lol
Why?

My biggest concern with this suggestion is FPS. IMHO, it should be added with other kinds of industrial waste--cohesive, and all industries get hit at once.
Perhaps it could wait until smoke does more than bad thoughts, too.
As far as FPS is concerned, I would assume it would do no further bogging down of the system than waterfall mist would, while miasma is going on about it's way.
Probably...but DF doesn't go along with assumptions well.

Quote
and to answer your question of "why", on the volcano thing, my first thought was the fortress being flooded with magma down the vent shaft. I'm a glass half empty kinda guy most days ;D
Ah. I see we were imagining putting the fortress at opposite ends of the volcano. Yeah, building a fortress in the bottom of a volcano would be moronic.

DF Suggestions / Re: Decay: A Hypothetical Tag of Great Versatility
« on: June 09, 2013, 08:26:44 am »
Representing further tarnishing would be a real simple:

In iron, have [DECAY:INORGANIC:RUSTY_IRON_1:33600:NONE:NONE]

In RUSTY_IRON_1, have [DECAY:INORGANIC:RUSTY_IRON_2:33600:NONE:NONE]

And so on, up to, say, RUST.
Obviously. The question isn't if it was possible, it's if it was worth it.

Hmm. Maybe storing items in bins could slow the decay?
Ah, right, things which can vary rate of decay...
Hmm. Maybe storing items in bins could slow the decay?
Indeed, and possibly have maintenance work such as polishing or sharpening restore it to a set number depending on the skill of the dwarf ^^
...or even reverse it.

Those would need to be separate tags, along with tags for determining if vermin accelerate decay, how being stockpiled would affect it, etc. Or maybe it could be another argument at the end of the tag...

Okay. Whatever this is, you need to deal with it now.

"Hey, Figura, catch!" You toss the glaive to Figura and hide behind her.

How brave...hiding behind Figura. You're really worthy of all this...

You don't know what this guy is talking about, but you don't think you like it. Time for Plan A:

"So, Mr...whatever you are?"
I am your doom. All will fall.
"Really? Is that what you really want?"
Yes.
...That failed. Okay, Plan B:

"Figura! Knock him into the Void while I sniff some paint!"
"Sadly, this isn't the strangest thing we've done.

[12+3+2v11+5] Thanks to the leverage offered by the glaive, Figura knocks...the thing slightly to one side. You discover that it can fly.
Meanwhile, you take out your trusty Can-O-Paint and sniff at it.
[+1 Creativity, +1 Toxicality] Let's burn that Creativity. [3+1] Not even close. You see the thing burning with a new power. A firey power...but not just fire.

What is this, hm?
[16-5] A rod of metal with a crossguard comes into existence in the thing's hand. Its burning returns to normal firey. Intriguing...you just gave me some of that Creative Energy flowing through your veins. The better to kill you with, I suppose. [24+5+5v9][1d6+5=7][-7 Structure] With a smashing blow, the thing heavily dents Figura's torso!

Default Combat Turn:
If Angel, turn into Nuriel.
If Nuriel, say a horrible one-liner and burn an enemy.
