Bio: Kamanashi was born to an upper-middle class family living in Tokyo. They had high expectations for him, and he fulfilled all of them and more. By the time he was in the sixth grade, he'd constructed a scale model of a new rocket design. Next was a bio-engineered tree before he was a sophomore in high school. A true prodigy, he didn't get a 'real' job for a long time. Rather, he stayed in college for 14 years, learning everything he could. This was funded by the occasional spree of inventions and writing of books. To Kamanashi, learning and knowledge is the only purpose for human life, and he pursues those goals with a passion. When he was 44, the government approached him about some strange occurences they'd found, asking him to help with the technical aspect. Only too happy to oblige, having grown bored with most research he could do on the planet's surface, he went up into space for the first time.

Bio: Yevgeniy comes from a rather humble background and achieved most of his higher schooling by schoolarship. Still, after completing his studies he was burdened with debt and drafted into mandatory service. With good results in basic training and a sleugh of apptitude tests later he was scouted as candidate for the (quite good paying - his reason d' entré) space program and - long story short - by commiting for 10 years he got in. Most of these and the years after he has spent in space. After surviving the occasional particle-collision, freak solar-flares nebst other mishaps and having participated in his share of emergency missions, "Yev" is one of the most experienced personel "up there". When he got the offer for the current mission, the pay seemed good enough - even after he got to know the specifics by commiting. His main objective in the mission is to ensure the functionality of the technical equipment and setting up the base.
