Again, the caveman has intelligence and training, just not education, and his training is practicals rather than tests.

And also again, we don't know enough about the scenario.

30947
Remind them of exactly what I did, then ask why that was so horrible.

30948
((I've got a shotgun for some reason, even though I'm supposed to be a banger.
You're right. That will be fixed for the next turn.

30949
Bike rules added!

30950
Alright kiddos this is important to mention as I've seen it happen thrice now. You do NOT need anything to carry extra stuff. You have infinite carrying capacity.
Why should that stop someone from making a backpack if they want to?

Might I suggest adding a link to it in the OP?

Tune my ear radio into coverage of the event.
Actually, not only is there not really radio coverage, players are forbidden to receive information from outside the Brawl Zone. I never thought that would come up.

((So, how far can we move?))
Depends. You can walk half a block in a turn, run a full block in a turn, or...huh. I haven't figured out how far bikes can move. TO THE RULES-MAKING-CAVE!

RESPAWN AS THE COUNT
COUNT STUFF
AH AH AH

[1] ONE death! AH AH CRAP!

Build anti-matter bombs.
[6] One goes off when you're building them. Respawn?

Repair Tavik Toth.
[4] He is fixed.

Actually, Take over my former dominions.
[3] You reclaim a couple planets.

I got eaten? Oh well. Respawn in toilet as you-know-what.
...No, I don't. And I don't think I want to.

be repaired.
You are.

Respawn as... hm... a cheesecake factory.
[5] You are a SENTIENT Cheesecake Factory!

Do the paperwork and finalize the creation of the administration
[6] Administration created! It hates you!

Again, why would running into Arthur be a bad thing?

Or, really, any of my characters who lasted more than a turn?

30954
Wait, can just Osborn use the spells or can ANYONE who can read the bookwyrm use them?

So he can't just read them off from memory? Well if so then I don't have to worry about that while he's stuck dealing with bugs... in a castle.... that's on a dragon's back... that has a book for a head... yeah that is still amazing.

Man you said characters here will be in MAGUS right? Oh man I'm looking forward to Osborn's appearance for sure now.
I feel sorry for those who encounter ... anyone here really. Grungson too.
What's wrong with Arthur?

But yeah, sucks big time if the Bookwyrm shows up...

That would be neat.

Same with every Suggestion Game this size.

Hmm...

What about unarmed combat?
Advantage: Caveman

As previously stipulated, everyone in the air force, even the accountants, gets combat training. Everyone. The astronaut would know how to use a knife.
I never argued that. I only argued that he would have used a knife or whatever in actual combat, which he wouldn't have.
Because modern combat is one gunfight you don't want to be left with a knife in.
And medieval astronauts are, sadly, imaginary.

Alright, so we seem to have an idea of where to put the goal...and, more importantly, I have time to start this!

-----

The game against the Renton Ronin begins. On each street corner is an "official," a neutral citizen paid five or ten nuyen to watch the game and make sure everyone follows the rules. The teams are each gathered by their goals, waiting.
A shaman from the Spiders, one of the gangs wronged by the Ronin, has conjured an illusion or spirit or something. It floats in the air, visible to both. At an unseen signal, it flashes, signaling the start of the first play in the game. This is the start, the time that can make or break the whole game...especially in a street game like this, with no replacements.

((I think I may have made some mistakes. Mind checking? Among other things, who agreed to not be a Heavy and instead to be a Banger?))

30958
However, certain things an astronaut would know would be very useful. For instance, how to utilize physics for maximum force, or where neural clusters are.
Cavemen can learn those things, too. Well, they might not learn all that, but they know how to hit hard and "If I hit someone there they go down".

And yes, we are smarter than cavemen. They were a different species with more muscle and thicker bones, and less brainmass.
Not if we're talking about what I thought we were talking about!
Cavemen as in neanderthals, cro-magnon, Australopithicine, what?

I picked knives because both would have some experience with it without unduly favoring one.
Actually, that would favor cavemen, because astronauts' combat experience would 99% of the time be restricted to ranged combat (ie firearm-based conflicts (ie shootouts)), whereas cavemen are more experienced in melee.

30959
If we assume equal footing, wouldn't that include equal training?
No, because that makes the astronaut and the caveman not an astronaut and a caveman.

Quote
Besides, a good astronaut would have some fighting experience, and would be smarter than a caveman.
Fighting experience, maybe, but probably not the kind of fighting the caveman has experience with. Which one the fight turns out to be will be pivotal--if it's pistols at high noon, the astronaut wins, but if it's clubs in a cave, the caveman will.
And "smarter"? Uh, no. More educated, yes, but a caveman doesn't have to know the first thing about neuroscience to brain someone.

True enough. Failure is always an option!
